Do you like it or not? It doesn't bother me, but the idiots on packpride seem to think it is very poor quality and have spent 4 pages talking about how the person who made it deserves an F and the school shouldn't allow something like that at the game. For those of you who have sat near it, is it really that bad, or has packpride once again proved that they are one of the bigger groups of idiots on the web?

I like the concept and there is definitely room for improvement. However, our beloved Masonic symbol is not specific to just our campus. And I realize that there cannot be a "Free Expression Tunnel" noise meter, but there is certainly a chance to display some originality.

Oh I was just interested in knowing how crappy it was since I sit on the other side of the stadium. TWW > PP. They complain about everything over there. The other day someone complained that they shouldn't have painted the walls of the stadium by the field grey and made it brick instead when they remodeled.

from an ECE standpoint it was totally fine, the lights get power and the noisemeter is controlled with a microcontroller with an adjustable scale and all that

I think they were kind of stuck in a rut. They can't make it any taller, or it would block peoples view, but at the same time if they made it thinner then the lights would be smaller and hard to see from the other end of the stadium.

I've been to a few of their end of semester events where they show off all of their projects. I've always been impressed and some of the projects even seem quite intimidating. Hooking up a few light bulbs to a noise meter seems like a bit of a cop out. Heck there were non design courses that had labs that seemed like they would be harder.

Maybe there's more to it that that.
