trivia night is more popular during the weekI don't see trivia on fridays or saturdays (and don't think I will)karaoke will still thrive on those days because people can get wasted and still have fun with karaoke

Hm... I suppose. There just seems to be a lot of "trivia night" spots popping up lately. I see this thing exploding all over the US as some sorta huge event. -"Hey _______, what are you doing tonight?"-"Oh, it's trivia night my friend... Sorry, maybe next time?"-"Oh... Alright then ______. Have fun! Remember to choose (C) if you don't know the answer..."-"But what if it's fill in the blank?"-"Then you better get it right or your teammates will beat you..."-*chuckle* "Oh okay then. Have a good one..."LOL, it's all good. I wish I had enough useless knowledge to participate and be successful.

meh- it is trivial enough that you'd be surprised how much you could knowsome weeks I rock it for our team, other weeks I only know 1 thing that isn't a blatantly obvious answer

Its basically an outlet for socially awkward people who don't feel comfortable having an hour long normal conversation amongst themselvesKind of pathetic, really

i disagree- it just gives us something to do while we are at the bar that is more productive than sitting there bullshitting with one another (winning free beers is serious business!)

most people at trivia nights are pretentious asshats.the one exception is bada bar because everyone there is down to earth and most are my friends IRL. But Flying Saucer trivia, for instance, is full of pretentious douchey hipsters/counter culture elitists

We went to trivia Weds nights a bunch at Tobacco Road. More to watch baseball and shit though than anything else... though we did win 3 times in a row...Don't hate.

you aren't pretentious, nor an asshat. I guess it really has to do with the location than anything. Saucer, as much as i love it, tends to bring out that crowd that i describe on its own. regardless of trivia.
