but I don't heart their prices Although they seemed cheaper than the last time I was in there 4 years ago. Or my perception of what food should cost is completely skewed now.

don't you mean 'Whole Paycheck'?ziiiiiiing
10/3/2009 8:18:38 AM
I heart their breakfast bar
10/3/2009 10:25:55 AM
I think I remember buying 3 items that totaled to almost 20 bucks.
10/3/2009 10:45:52 AM
wtf did you buy?
10/3/2009 10:50:16 AM
Still cheaper than Harris Teeter
10/3/2009 10:56:18 AM
^ wat? yea if you are comparing full price, but who pays full price at a grocery store? play the coupons and deals right Harris Teeter can easily be/usually is the cheapest in my experience.
10/3/2009 11:15:32 AM
too bad their CEO is a scumbag
10/3/2009 11:19:49 AM
I love getting lunch there.Yum now I totally want a tuna sandwich from there. *sigh* Too bad there's not one close by.
10/3/2009 11:21:05 AM

^^^ seriously? go lookhttp://www.bing.com/search?q=whole+foods+ceo
10/3/2009 11:45:23 AM
Yeah, when I searched all I came up with was a bunch of hippies saying they'll never buy their granola from Whole Foods anymore after the CEO wrote an op-ed opposing Obama's health care plan. I now see that he used a pseudonym to post some mean shit on the internet. The horror!
10/3/2009 12:36:45 PM
^ specifically he used an anonymous account to disparage his competition, and then it was discovered. when you're the CEO of a large corporation, shit like that is incredibly stupid.

10/3/2009 12:39:10 PM
i go once every week or two to get a salad from the salad bar. but i'm not so stupid as to actually do my regular shopping there. as it is, a salad from there costs over $10, which is outrageous.
10/3/2009 12:41:24 PM
^^^really? No embezzlement? No fucking workers out of benefits? No insider trading? No fraud? Just posting some bad shit under a pseudonym on the internet?[Edited on October 3, 2009 at 12:44 PM. Reason : .]
10/3/2009 12:44:39 PM
^ i see that you're trying to make a point.
10/3/2009 12:48:08 PM
his op-ed on health care made me realize how much I hate hippies. The man made a bunch of great points, yet he got bashed because he went against the liberal grain of his customer base.
10/3/2009 12:54:03 PM
^ Bingo.

I love the sausages they have in their deli section. A++. They also have the best seafood department in the area.
10/3/2009 8:43:25 PM
WH also has really good deals every week. If you buy shit food you can go to Harris Teeter and get it for much less, this is not debatable; however, if you're buying organics or varied high grade products from HT then you'll come out much better by shopping for those same items at Whole Foods. Soy milk, much cheaper. Kashi cereal much cheaper. ben and jerry's ice cream much cheaper. I'm talking a dollar less on each of these items. Hell even their prepared burgers in the meat department are cheaper than HT on a summers day.

The healthcare opinion piece the ceo wrote is here: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204251404574342170072865070.htmlAll the points he makes are great.
10/3/2009 8:58:42 PM
^^ I guess it makes sense when you think about it in terms of simple supply and demand. Whole Foods buys a crapload more of those products in bulk so they can charge less.^
