Yep...they have VIPER Talkgroups (channels) for each of the major metro NC areas...Char-Meck, GBO, Raleigh, Fay, etc...for those who don't know VIPER is a statewide communications plan that was designed so that agencies could have interoperability (can talk to each other) across NC...basically it is a statewide radio system where everyone can talk to each other...1st couple pics I put up shows system activity off the Blue Ridge Rd tower site...last pic is system activity off the Cole Mill Rd tower site in Durham...in neighborhood of 3,500 channels statewide (and growing) with Fed, state & local public safety users...and also town public works, animal control, etc....

I was on Event 4 for the U2 concert, nothing much happened. The only radio traffic was from a guy that did PARs (Personnel Accountability Reports) at extremely random and inconvenient intervals. Got to see a good show though.
