Not thru malfunction, but thru rage

With me, its 3, but none since like 2004


First was in NBA Jam way back when it first came out on consoles...my bro beat me on one of those underhand full court heaves and I flipped

Second was a few years later playing Gran Turismo...I kept finishing like .4 second off the last license challenge, so after the 50th time I was just like fuck it, controller ===> wall

Last time was in the dorms at State, playing Madden, up with just a few seconds to go in the game and fucking Rich Gannon runs for an 80 yard TD to beat me, with his 55 speed...biggest bullshit I've ever seen...I threw it on the GROUND

Nah, no video game controllers. But...

I broke one TV remote in October 1999 and one in October 2000. I was drunk both times. It wasn't my fault though. It was Kenny Rogers' and Armando Benitez's.

when i used to play a lot of poker online (like, 30+hrs / week, basically as a job through school) i kept 3 back up mouses.

i went through them like candy.

take a beat, bash the moust against the table until it shattered, swap out for a new one, pissed offedness = gone

I've never broken a controller out of rage. The were too strong back then. You could drive over one with a car and it would work.

I did break the cartridge casing to the SNES version Street Fighter 2. I TIGER KNEE SMASHed a hole in it. Of course I electrical taped the thing back together and continued playing.

The only controller I've ever had to malfunction was the gamecube controllers. They stopped working but sometimes they would start working again months later. They were completely flaky. They never took any abuse either. I guess the controllers or ports just sucked. Every other controller for other systems I've owned have lasted for the complete duration of the system.

i've never broken a controller out of rage, but i did throw my cell phone against a brick wall once.

i've worn out a few n64 controllers, but that is really nothing out of the ordinary. those joysticks suck.

I broke a Sega Genesis controller, but it was third party.

Nintendo products used to hold up notoriously well, until the 64 (joystick powder issues) and Gamecube (internal integrity was lacking, also a weak Z-button). I feel like I read that the Wiimotes have survived floods, but I'm probably wrong.

The original PlayStation controllers were also incredibly tenacious.

Also, my brother has several marks and crevices from controllers being thrown at it. It's one of those late-90's TV/VCR combos with the thick glass.

Thought about it on several occasions, but usually have enough self-control to not throw any controllers.

Now, Domino Rally on the other hand, setting up that thing put me into a rage on several occasions.
