Who has theirs? My Mom, grandpa, cousins, cousins fiance, aunt, uncle all got them last week. I feel left out.
10/21/2009 1:12:34 PM
I bet they also have trucks.Congratulations.

^then you shouldn't own guns
10/21/2009 1:21:09 PM
I live with the U.S. Constitution. That is my conceal carry permit./Ted Nugent
10/21/2009 1:22:59 PM
I dont have any guns. Shot plenty of guns but never owned any.
10/21/2009 1:23:29 PM
Most of my family, and fiance's family all have them. Most of my wacky california relatives don't understand, though a couple do.Though in NC, it is a Concealed Handgun Permit.[Edited on October 21, 2009 at 1:32 PM. Reason : .]
10/21/2009 1:31:47 PM
I want to buy a handgun. I guess I should start researching.
10/21/2009 1:33:33 PM
^that's the spirit!
10/21/2009 1:34:31 PM
I gots mines. You should definately go ahead and get it before they begin to regulate it even more.
10/21/2009 1:34:41 PM
My husband and I are wanting to get ours pretty soon, but we want to get more practice in before we take the class.
10/21/2009 1:36:21 PM
That was an interesting double post!V--We know the class is easy, but we want to be responsible gun owners. I just feel like I don't know enough to carry 24/7.[Edited on October 21, 2009 at 1:51 PM. Reason : ]
10/21/2009 1:45:27 PM
^^The class is STUPID easy. The answers to the written part are basically banged into your head then you have to shoot like 15 rounds and hit the man-sized target at 3 and 6 yards. I don't remember the exact specs but my 2 buddies completed it two weeks ago. Said he didn't even bother to aim, if you kept it on the paper you passed.
10/21/2009 1:49:42 PM
Would Gzus really be for carrying around a weapon?
10/21/2009 1:50:23 PM
Yeah I heard it is. They had the answers in the back of the book lol.How long are the classes in NC? Its a 12hr class here in Ohio. They complested the class in two days. Six hours at a time.
10/21/2009 1:52:36 PM
<- passed the class but have yet to register with the $heriff (i need $90).^^^the class was my first time shooting a handgun, i was the only person in the class to shoot 100%
10/21/2009 1:54:13 PM
takes like half a dayi think we had to shoot 50 rounds at 7 yards or something
10/21/2009 1:54:59 PM
I'm trying to get a class together for myself and some friends over the next few weeks. I'll have mine...
10/21/2009 1:55:13 PM
Got minez. 8 hrs in NC. Had a smoking hot milf in my class with a stainless 1911.She failed the range portion
10/21/2009 1:55:51 PM
RE: CHP/CCP classesIn NC it is 8 hours of instruction (safety & law) PLUS a shooting demonstration. The shooting demonstration is different per instructor, but is typically around 30 rounds, fired from 3, 5, 7, and 10 yards (or any variation of). I need to refresh myself on the legal definition of the shooting part though. Some instructors/classes have timing requirements, more stringent pass/fail. I've seen between 70%-80% pass/fail grades [Edited on October 21, 2009 at 1:59 PM. Reason : .]
10/21/2009 1:57:01 PM
Can you rent a handgun to take the class or do you have to have your own already?
10/21/2009 1:58:51 PM
^rent/own/borrow/whatever. no requirements for that.all you need is NCDL/ID, box of ammo, and a pistol to shoot it with. and money, of course. many solo instructors are cash only and will tell you exactly what to bring, how much, etc. Many also would like you to keep firearms & ammo out of the classroom until you are told to bring it in. [Edited on October 21, 2009 at 2:01 PM. Reason : .]
10/21/2009 2:00:21 PM
i thought it was concealed carry, not conceal & carry...?anyway, Fumbler and my dad took the class through the city of rocky mount. it was a day (8hrs) and easy, they said. i would have been there but i had to go stupid bridesmaid dress shopping
10/21/2009 2:10:25 PM
Hahaha I think it is.....FAIL
10/21/2009 2:12:25 PM
it's different in different states. in NC, it's Concealed Handgun Permit
10/21/2009 2:23:30 PM
correct...NCCHP
10/21/2009 2:36:50 PM
i was really addressing the act of concealed carry, not the name of the permit.but yeah, as previously mentioned like 23 times in this thread, it's chp
10/21/2009 2:39:49 PM
I got one, I also got a badge which trumps almost every CCP rule. I carry every where I go
10/21/2009 3:50:13 PM
Do some of you just carry a pistol around with you wherever you goI'd feel like an asshole unless I was going somewhere where I really thought I might need it
10/21/2009 3:55:44 PM
shit is real in the QC
10/21/2009 3:58:29 PM
If I had any money, I'd get one. Not so much because I want to carry in a holster everywhere, but just because it makes it easier to buy as many handguns as you want, and also so I could have one in my glove compartment and shit.As it is, all I've got is a rifle and I can't afford to buy any pistols, so I don't bother.
10/21/2009 4:00:07 PM
^^the problem with that is, you never know when you might need it.It's one of those "rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it" sort of things. That said, I'm not a permanent resident of NC just yet, so I haven't bothered to get it.
10/21/2009 4:01:52 PM
I've had a gun pulled on me twice, and both times its been for stupid shit and I never really felt in any danger of actually getting shotI just don't come across many situations where I say to myself "Man, this would be a lot better if I had my glock with me "
10/21/2009 4:03:55 PM
10/21/2009 4:12:27 PM
^^well it's a personal choice. I don't ever think I'll need my seatbelt, airbags, fire extinguisher, or fire alarm, but I'm always happy that I have them... and "glock"... really? more pistols (and better pistols) than glock^^^^you don't need a CHP to carry a pistol... as long as you OC.^agreed. [Edited on October 21, 2009 at 4:13 PM. Reason : .]
10/21/2009 4:12:57 PM
I know I don't need one to open carry. But as I say, the CCP just makes things easier and gives me a little more range in terms of where I can put the thing.
10/21/2009 4:20:31 PM
^yeh, it's really handy for shopping & placement (assuming one cares to carry legally)
10/21/2009 4:21:19 PM
Going to Harris Teeter, better take my gun in case some maniac starts poppin off in the produce aisle !
10/21/2009 4:23:31 PM
I bet you wear a seatbelt on the way, that your car has airbags, that you obey most if not all traffic laws, etc.
10/21/2009 4:24:55 PM
its a bit of a stretch to compare those, no ?let me know the next shootout you see in Cameron Village
10/21/2009 4:26:44 PM
10/21/2009 4:27:55 PM
the point is, is that you have safety devices all around you, nearly all of the time. you typically don't think that you'll need/use them, but you'd rather have them then not when you need them.
10/21/2009 4:29:05 PM
^Exactly. I've never had someone try and break into my house. But I still lock my door and activate the alarm system.[Edited on October 21, 2009 at 4:30 PM. Reason : V-and there's a difference between being scared, and being prepared for something you can't expect.]
10/21/2009 4:30:05 PM
Its a risk I'm willing to takeIf I'm scared to go get a burrito without packing, then I'm living in the wrong place
10/21/2009 4:30:13 PM
or just naive about when and where shit can go downi don't ever expect shit to go down in broad daylight even though i've seen it happennothing that happens at night surprises me[Edited on October 21, 2009 at 4:31 PM. Reason : .]
10/21/2009 4:30:48 PM
i've never had to use my seat belt, i still put it on every time i get in a car
10/21/2009 4:31:39 PM
like I said, it's a personal choice. that's whats great about this country. and crime happens anywhere... it doesn't matter if where you are/live is typically a "safe place". [Edited on October 21, 2009 at 4:33 PM. Reason : .]
