Lil Wayne fucking rules, so that's right out.

Raprock and nu metal sucked, but they came out of white kids not knowing how to reconcile the influence of their parents with the influence of outside culture.

The swing revival bizarrely made some of my friends a lot of money.

Modern rock is offensive to everything that rock and roll stands for.

^^They absolutely did, to their targeted demographic.

That's part of the industry, though. It's why college kids who are all into vinyl zeppelin albums still grow their hair long, wear aviator glasses, tight jeans, and vintage t-shirts that are 2 sizes too small.

It's not a bad thing, it's just a reality.


And it's not just music. All cultural figures do, to a certain extent, capitalize on projected images.
