I'm posting this here b/c it will get more views. Hopefully i'll get some serious responses.I have a 3/4 sleeve that i've had since last January. It healed completely fine. All flat, no raised areas.I just looked down and my forearm is was a little red. I was walking down the hall and it was itching, i scratched it and felt a bump. All of the white highlights on that part of my arm are raised up. Just the white highlights, and only on that part of my arm.Anyone ever seen anything like that? I'm going to wash it right now. I have no idea why this would happen. And it's not the entire tattoo, just a small portion of it.

maybe it's god trying to tell you not to be a tool who gets a sleeve tattoo

^ yeah, could be. I just wish god had done that before i got it.pics in my gallery. I washed it with some anti-bacterial soap. It's gone down noticeably since. I'm not sure you can really tell what all is raised in the photo. But the whites on the nose, brow, chin, and around the eyes were all raising up very quickly. Almost the thickness of a dime.Like i said, it's gone down a lot now. but it was very strange.

An allergic reaction to the ink?
10/23/2009 3:07:34 PM
ouch, that sucks. Did you try the regular like some gold bond lotion or Calamine lotion?
10/23/2009 3:13:48 PM
^^i got it in January. it's been completely healed for about 9 months, so i don't think it's a reaction to the ink itself. Maybe something and that particular ink interacting? I can't think of anything i've done out of the ordinary or anything I may have touched today.I let my roommate's dog out this morning, and pet her a little afterwards. There's some ivy or sumac or something in the back yard, but she doesn't usually go near it. And I would buy that if it was on other parts of my arm or body, but this was specifically the white highlights on that part of my arm. The upper part of my arm has white highlights with the same ink.^ I'm at work, and it happened very quickly. I had some liquid dial, so I washed it that and it stopped itching and the bumps went down. As of now, some aren't raised at all anymore.

Did you recently switch to a different brand of clothing detergent?

Might've been some weird reaction between whatever shit the dog rolled in and the ink, but I would expect that to come around right near when the dog touched you, not like 6 hours later. That or it could've been something in the place you work that you rubbed on. That would be my guess, since it went away once you cleaned it.Definitely something due to the ink though, from looking at the pics.

Where'd you get inked? I want to know which shop to avoid.

^^^ not detergent, but there was a brand of fabric softener sheet in the dryer which I don't normally use. My roommate just bought it like 2 nights ago, and it was in there when I threw my clothes in the dryer so I left it. I pulled the shirt that I have on right out of the dryer this morning. I came into work around 11 this morning. I first noticed it a little before 2.I have a short-sleeved shirt on, so there's nothing directly touching it. But sitting at a computer all day, my arm has brushed up against my body some. There's nothing new in my office, but I wear long-sleeved shirts most days... so it could be something I just haven't contacted with my arm recently. It could be that, and or maybe there was something on the surface of the skin that took a little while to work its way down. the ink is below the epidermis.Anyhow, it's all but gone now.
