i used to buy apple/cherry wood at the bbq galores place at crossroads. but, it closed down a year or two ago.

i couldn't find apple at the normal places like lowes/home depot. just got some from a guy on ebay - search for smoke wood and you'll find it.

I know Lowes/HD has mesquite and hickory chunks. When I BBQ I get hickory chunks and applewood chips from Lowes, soak the chips in water so they smoke w/o smoldering/catching fire too fast.
