Fall of Troy isn't bad per se, but you kinda have to have an appreciation for the more experimental shit they're trying to pull off. Plus, every album is almost a completely different sound, which throws people off. I like 'em for what they are.

Progressive metal =/= metalcore

The absurd levels of talent, maybe? The fact that they are versatile enough to go from metal to country to jazz and be incredible at all of them?

I didn't used to be fan until I actually listened to an album all the way through. That kind of music isn't what I listen to most, but they are incredibly talented. There is not another progressive metal band out there as talented as them right now.
