My husband is use to it.

I had a wonderful full night of sleep last night. It just took a bit longer to wind down to sleep after taking my Ambien than it usually does.

And, GGMon, lots of parents take sleep aids. My son was sound asleep in his bed and my husband medication and intoxicant free to take care of an emergency.

ambien doesn't really do much for me. they gave it to us in iraq whenever we'd have to switch shifts (i.e., go from working days to working nights and sleeping days, for example). I remember a couple of times where I took it and still didn't go to sleep for a couple of hours. the biggest thing I noticed is that I feel exceptionally well rested when I do wake up.


it's similar with other drugs, though...like, I can drink a latte with 4 shots of espresso and not really feel all hopped up (though I will have to pee like a mad dog)...or painkillers, like oxycontin or vicoden (not to mention lesser stuff) didn't do a whole lot for me when I've had them after breaking my ankle or having laser eye surgery. I took them after the eye surgery because I was so miserable and I figured it was better than nothing, but I don't get any really drastic relief from it).
