I'm sure the officer felt threatened, and that is totally acceptable. He could have easily gotten into his car and assessed the situation instead of shooting first. It isn't like he rolled up into the driveway of a heavily armed drug den. He wasn't in danger if he would have just gotten back into the car. Discharging a weapon is supposed to be a last resort, isn't it?

Cops got scared of my dog Kaysee once. They were driving in the neighborhood and they saw Buster (RIP) and got out and started to pet him, and all of a sudden Kaysee who was just barely a year old saw them and did her scream bark and charged at them wanting to play, they started running away from her, she started chasing them wanting to play and then Buster (RIP) chased after all them barking his head off being like "wtf Kaysee, I was getting attention and you had to ruin it by being an attention whore"

Honestly it was pretty funny to watch...

the most fucked up thing is that, based on the story, the cops pull up in HER DRIVEWAY TO ASK FOR DIRECTIONS, then the dog runs out, possibly just being curious and sniffing around...its not like the cops were called to the house about a disturbance or a crazy dog...at least based on what you can gather from the video

There is no moral justification for trespassing on someone's property without cause and shooting their animals because they charge. Had he been serving a warrant I'd have been more sympathetic, but this shows a clear disregard for the property rights of law abiding citizens.
