i'll occasionally go thru times when i wake up sweaty a few nights in a row. i've narrowed the cause down to either anxiety or my cycle. it's so grossssssss

maybe you're getting sick?

no drinking (of the alcoholic variety). i usually drink water before bed? but that only explains my need to pee 6 times a night.

id also imagine having the top of your head covered somehow would lead to more profuse sweating since thats such a huge evaporative cooling point in the human body

hahaha. oh no menopause! i also saw on the mayo clinic website that lots of cancers, hiv, and certain medicatios can cause it.

one of the medications i'm on is on the list! so hopefully that is all it is.

Stress... everything you post on here re: health is almost 100% stress/anxiety related to be honest.

When I was in grad school this would happen to me from time to time... it's all stress/anxiety. Actually all the stuff that you have mentioned was pretty textbook for what I had.

When I started really doing other things (working out/basketball/running) is when it finally all went away... but everyone is different in getting over it.

i've been trying to eat healthier (which DOES make me feel better) and work in a lil' exercise. but i'm always tired. but i probably wouldn't be tired if i exercised! it is a vicious cycle.

one medication I was on made me sweat so much at night that I would wake up thinking I wet the bed

after a few weeks of that, I talked to my doc and we lowered the dosage and it stopped

I only wake up at night covered in sweat when I am too cold. I don't usually realize that I am too cold until I end up putting on a shirt and avoiding the sweating for the rest of the evening.

nah but i take antidepressants and apparently night sweat is a side effect

i've just never had them until the past like week or so, which is weird cause i've been taking the medicine way longer than that. oh welllll.

(not any benzos though)

Did somewhere actually list spicy foods? Because if that can do it I think I found my problem. And I will have to deal with it because I'm not giving up my hot sauce.

Last week, this happened to me twice in a row. I know this is weird but the more clothing I wear, the less likely I sweat, but I wore my normal pj pants and t shirt. I, too did a search. But I finally concluded that it was probably a mix of fluctuating hormones and anxiety. It makes sense since a woman's hormone profile is constantly changing AND menopause causes night sweats and this is attributed to a change in hormones.
I'm not saying that girls that have nightsweats are going through menopause, I just think its a change in the hormonal profile given in the month.

Everyone sweats plenty at night, whether you know it or not... waking up soaked obviously isn't normal though. Like I said, in the OPs case I'm sure it's just stress/anxiety. Not much you can do about it accept try and chip away at the underlying cause, which isn't exactly easy to do...
