Thanksgiving is only 3 weeks away, I just want to get the next two months over with.

Life is too short to be depressed.
11/8/2009 9:18:35 PM
i really don't get how thanksgiving could depress anyoneeven if you hate your family, as long as theres good food why be sad?if you are surrounded by bad cooks then i guess you could be depressed.
11/8/2009 9:19:29 PM
I don't know why, but I am almost 100% indifferent to almost every holiday. Guess it's one of those "does it really matter?" kind of things.
11/8/2009 9:20:52 PM
my family is funand i like foodso i like holidays(not really easter so much though, cause i'm not really into church. and that is usually an early morning or brunch type of deal and when i have time off i kinda like to sleep/be lazy. no offense, jesus)
11/8/2009 9:21:54 PM
werent you the same one that was depressed on halloween?do you get depressed everytime there is a social situation where people enjoy themselves?maybe there is some underlying problem?
11/8/2009 9:21:59 PM
how could you be depressed for halloween that isn't even like a being around your family type holidayi always feel kinda depressed on like jan 5th after the holidays
11/8/2009 9:22:35 PM
^^i'm admittedly becoming increasingly anti-social, although its not intentional. i don't hate my family or anything. its just this time of year seems to magnify a lot personal feelings.[Edited on November 8, 2009 at 9:43 PM. Reason : .]

I feel ya, Chop.I get depressed and stressed around my birthday every year. Now we just keep it really, really low-key and minimal. I do dinner with the fam and dinner with my best friend. Anything more is asking for disaster, and by disaster, I mean me getting wasted and alienating my friends and family so badly that it takes half a year to put all the relationships back together. But I love the holidays!!!
11/8/2009 9:57:47 PM
i'm not depressed by the holidays, i'm just not ready for christmas music yet! can we at least get through thanksgiving? thanks.
11/8/2009 11:13:41 PM
Can we go in rewind, so that I have more time to get my paper done that is due on the 24th?
11/8/2009 11:18:50 PM
I hate holidays with a passion. This year, I'd like to just chill out with my cat. She never causes drama. I may even share some turkey with her.
11/8/2009 11:20:32 PM
^How can you hate? I like the food, alcohol, and gifts.[Edited on November 8, 2009 at 11:21 PM. Reason : .]
11/8/2009 11:21:22 PM
I like family, food and alcohol. I hate Christmas shopping and I don't like the clutter that I get. I wish we could just hang out and have fun then just buy ourselves stuff if we want it like we do the rest of the year.
11/8/2009 11:25:40 PM
thanksgiving is the most fun in my family especially now that my sister and i don't hate each other.
11/8/2009 11:26:54 PM
^^That's why you give gift cards and ask for gift cards.
11/8/2009 11:28:41 PM

My mother, sister, and friends usually ask what I want or notice things I need so I don't have to pretend to like anything they get me. And I am an awesome gift giver so I don't have to worry about that.
11/8/2009 11:34:52 PM
^ Can I hire you to do it for me then?
11/8/2009 11:38:12 PM
Yes! Just give me a list of the people and their interests. I charge 25% of the total cost of the gifts. OR $100. Whichever is more.
11/8/2009 11:42:42 PM
i have a friend whose only interests are fresh off the lot bmw 3-series. WHAT SHOULD I GIVE HIM???
11/8/2009 11:59:36 PM
^obviously a fresh off the lot 3 series, duh. when you only see your family 2 or 3 times a year, its scary how easy it is to lose touch. for the past 4 or 5 years we've been doing the holidays at my sister's house in asheville because she's the one married with kids. but i still catch a (generally self imposed) guilt trip for not going to see my grandparents and extended family in vance county. i don't get a whole lot of time off from work, so when the rare free day off comes, i'd rather not spend it driving all over god's green earth (i'm in atlanta). I realize this is a very selfish attitude, which compounds the guilt factor. coupled with the fact that i really don't have any close friends to really share the holidays with anymore, it makes for pretty blah season. tww is a blog.

It depresses me how exhausting my family can be. I look forward to seeing them but I dont at the same time
11/9/2009 11:03:59 PM
i hate the holidays, and oct-mar in general
11/9/2009 11:06:09 PM
