Quote :
"CARY -- A 15-member task force will spend the next seven months poring over Cary's sign ordinances, which were last overhauled nearly a decade ago.

The Town Council approved the formation of the task force, setting in motion a process that could lead to sweeping revisions of the town's current sign rules. Cary's sign laws are considered some of the strictest in the region.

The proposed review comes in part because of concerns raised by business owners and residents about the flexibility and visibility of signs allowed under current rules.

Since 1999, Cary has considered nearly 20 amendments to its sign regulations, including an approved measure to allow more colors in commercial signs.

Upon completion of the task force's work, Cary could spend as much as $25,000 to hire a consultant to review any recommended changes.

The task force's goals include:

Evaluating current regulations for clarity, consistency and intent.

Reviewing input from residents and the business community.

Identifying and discussing recent industry or economic trends that might affect sign age.

Considering appropriate amendments in light of the evaluation findings.

The group's first meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Nov.18 in Town Hall. Residents will be able provide feedback during the next two months, according to a timeline provided by the town."

even if bojangles just had a non-descript sign, i'm sure they could still be profitable in cary. i'd def go to it.

^^ I agree

if the sign ordinance was the only thing keeping Bojangles from coming to Cary, I am certain they would adapt to meet the criteria of the ordinance. There has to be another reason why Bojangles is staying away, and it most likely has to do with profitability.

there's a BoJo's on Airport Blvd, a BoJo's on 64, and a BoJo's on Western. if you live in Cary, you can get to one of those 3 locations within 10mins (usually) so quit your bitching.

They are building a bojangles in Cary. On Chatham/Western Blvd. In between the Soccer park and Cooper's furniture.

In Santa Fe they have all kinds of ordinances. And McDonald's has walls of that stucco that looks like adobe and a relatively small wooden hand painted sign. It seems like Bojangles would also adapt as much as they have to to go somewhere.

The wooden sign is by the road, but you get the idea.

i think its the colors of the sign, not the size that is the problem

It also has to do with the color of the roof, it would have to be blue or white or something like that, someone from Cary correct me...

My thoughts exactly. What we really need is a Smithfield's.

There is a Smithfield's on Davis in the Morrisville Market area. Probably not Cary technically but close enough.
