Cool interview! I like what he says about Obama and the Nobel Peace Prize I actually like most of what he says in the interview, and his Revolutionary albums are great.

boring... hai guys look at me - i'm hard and scowl a lot and sing rap songs. oh, also, i read a lot of stuff on dailykos last night so let me tell u it before i forget it all

i like dance with the devil but political music drives me up the wall. If you have something to say politically don't just do it with lyrics, use an allegory or something artisticI'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.[Edited on November 15, 2009 at 7:45 PM. Reason : ]

Solinari responded after 6 minutes and obviously didn't watch. The dude built a school and orphanage in Kabul but assumes he's just a rapper who read dailykos last night.
11/15/2009 7:48:23 PM
I didn't watch either because i'm close minded.but i'm watching nowI'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.

clearly because we are not 100% behind some random douche-bag artist who thinks he has political insight but yet never gets around to telling any solutions... Srsly, I listened for 13 minutes and he never offered any suggestions as to what a litmus test should be for invading another country.Anybody can be a monday morning quarterback. He aint shit. All he said were leftist talking points - absolutely NO original thoughts from this dumbass. Listen to Dead Prez if you want some original leftist perspective from a rapper. At least they've got a set of balls and will tell you what needs to be done instead of just sitting there in their "hard-ass hoodie" complaining about shit.Whining doesn't make you intellectual - whether or not you're from the skreet[Edited on November 15, 2009 at 7:51 PM. not badI wish the interviewer would actually counter and spark a little more debate than a couple of prewritten questionsand sheesh, I'm not a pro religious guy but how about sharing the blame for religion a little bit, seems like it's all cool and hip to bash christianity but how about examining all the bullshit going on in the middle east before we got there
11/15/2009 7:51:47 PM
DOES THIS DUMBASS HAVE AN IDEA FOR WHAT THE LITMUS TEST SHOULD BE FOR INVADING ANOTHER COUNTRY?Seriously - its his leading point... But no... he's just trying to sound intellectual, throwing out names of countries and crap as though he could even point to them on a map.

^^First of all, it was an interview, and he answered the questions. It wasn't a fucking dissertation. Second of all, you really think he's a dumbass? Interesting...[Edited on November 15, 2009 at 7:56 PM. Reason : ]

you know when 0EP and I agree on something that I or he has a point.he didn't answer jack crap. He just sat there complaining saying the SAME OLD tired old crap that you hear from everyone else all over the goddamn place. there was NO original theory or suggestion from this guy.He couldn't even offer a suggestion to solve his #1 complaint; that we have no comprehensive litmus test for going to war. Hey buddy, here's a comprehensive suggestion - shut your goddamn face if all you're capable of is second-guessing the people who DO actually have to make a decision.[Edited on November 15, 2009 at 7:57 PM. The interviewer needs to be a hotter chick, have some decent makeup on, and be topless for me to listen. Should have done this in Russia...

OK, I like to think that you guys can validate this by much of my rhetoric on this board, but I sway back and forth from left to right on several issues. That said, I am terribly annoyed typically by "political music". For me, music has a purpose, and it's not to impose any agenda. However, I've always liked Immortal Technique, primarily, because I tend to agree with a lot of what he says. In my most honest opinion, he's a lot more checked in his facts AND opinions than say, Zack de La Rocha ever was. ZDLR was practically a whiny bastard, if you ask me.I only watched the first 4:06 of the interview, and uhh, I'd say everything he said was dead on. The reasons behind invading Iraq DID change with the weather. Anyone who followed the whole sequence of events following 9/11 closely can vouch for that--even righties who aren't in denial. He also made a great point that we DO pick and choose which oppressive regimes we tumble, and furthermore, that there truly ought to be some sort of system in place--a threshold, if you will--for WHEN we send our American troops into battle, and how many. He's simply saying it should be, at this point, a lot better thought out, and consistent across the board.Nothing he says in the first 4:06 can really be denied, at all. That said, I am far too disenfranchised with politics, and their inherent commentators to watch the rest of the interview, whether I agree with him for the full 13 minutes, or if he completely loses me at 4:07.and hey, you prescriptionist hack right-wing blow-hard: it's not his job to come up with a fucking litmus test. His entire point is that there OUGHT to be one, and the people making decisions to put 100,000 Americans at risk ought to have one by now.[Edited on November 15, 2009 at 8:51 PM. Who?
11/15/2009 8:54:12 PM
haha zach de la rocha, I wonder what that guy is doing these days, I never really expected that guy to really know much anyway, it's a lot better to spout politics in a rap song than heavy metal at least, rocha never really said much besides a couple of angry phrases

lulzbig oneseems to me he was posing the question. I doubt he has a solution, other than imploring Congress, et al, to come up with something, because, well, they're supposed to.calm down, fella.and let's face it. both sides are beating their proverbial dead horses in sordid attempts to get people like me and you at each other's throats.like I've said 1000 times, I don't put any stock--morally or intellectually--in any politician.[Edited on November 15, 2009 at 11:04 PM. it's fairly safe to say that interviewers don't venture too far out of the box, either.

TT, your arguments aren't really relevant and don't make any sense. I'm sure he was happy he didn't grow up in Peru. So what? Many blacks, and people of other races respected Marcus Garvey. What's really your point?
