not a good feelingwe had a client's 22 year old cat die while in our care. he freaked out. said a lot of swear words and such. 2 weeks later came back in with a new cat and apologized.

i've been looking for it with pneumonia in the cold for 2.5 hours. we've seen it (we = my dad, bro and i) so many times and gotten close but then she just BOLTS the other way. my dad made me come inside. plus i was hysterically crying because i couldn't breathe and this is all my fault because i wanted to petsit the dog and they did it for me because they knew i was sick and knew it would make me feel better and then my brother was taking out the trash and it just BOLTED out of our door.[Edited on November 24, 2009 at 11:54 PM. Reason : got lost at 930. sigh.]
11/24/2009 11:54:09 PM
old cat dying isn't the same as losing the animal^ sounds like it is your brothers fault not yours[Edited on November 24, 2009 at 11:55 PM. Reason : ]
11/24/2009 11:54:19 PM
well still it would suck. but yea. this is horrible. if someone finds it they will call the # on the tag which will be to a house where no one is home. ugh[Edited on November 24, 2009 at 11:55 PM. Reason : .]
11/24/2009 11:54:39 PM
it still sucks assi wouldn't feel good about either situation regardless of circumstance. no matter how it gets said, "your pet is gone" is not easy to say, good luck!
11/24/2009 11:56:33 PM
If it makes you feel any better when we used to hunt our dogs would sometime show up days later.
11/24/2009 11:58:20 PM
*hug* I'm sure some shopping will you make you feel better!
11/24/2009 11:59:20 PM
good luck with your search
11/25/2009 12:00:12 AM
if gone more than 12 hours start looking at the dog's house. had that happen at the first kennel i worked at, manager was walking a dog and fell and broke her leg, the dog took off, three days later showed up at home. also had a family take a trip to tennessee and lose the dog, weeks later it showed up at the vet in cary![Edited on November 25, 2009 at 12:02 AM. 11/25/2009 12:03:08 AM
i was quoting billy madison btw, good luck
11/25/2009 12:08:04 AM
u needs the strong stinky smelling treats for that dogthrow one at her and keep throwin 'em at her while she eats 'em until she's close enough to nab
11/25/2009 12:10:48 AM
11/25/2009 12:21:21 AM
hmmm yea... dogs can sense a person's energy.... that's probably why it keeps running away.you'll have to get a hold of yourself for the dog's sake.
11/25/2009 12:22:55 AM
^ this
11/25/2009 12:23:49 AM
also... try running away from it once it gets close. turn it into a fun game that the dog wants to play.doggie doesn't want to get in trouble and doesn't want to get nabbed... but doggie loves to play!
11/25/2009 12:25:20 AM
well i don't know what i'm supposed to do. i never chased it i just sat down and held out a treat and she came up and i reached out to pet her and she ran! i wasn't upset like this until we couldn't find her anymore.like when she was being "spotted" around our neighbors yard i was like, we're eventually going to get her. but now we haven't seen her in an hour and a half ^ yea. its just so freaking hard to see out now and we haven't seen her in forever [Edited on November 25, 2009 at 12:26 AM. Reason : .]
11/25/2009 12:25:52 AM
they just lowered the number of days animals will be kept before they kill em so act fast!
11/25/2009 12:26:22 AM
i heard that in these tough economic times redneck families have taken to eating stray dogs for thxgiving dinner
11/25/2009 12:27:18 AM
the dog will turn up. even if someone else takes her in she has tags. she will get home eventually.
11/25/2009 12:27:19 AM
she has tagsluckily so hopefully someone wouldn't just take her to the shelter with the tag onplus she's FROM the shelter so she should be microchipped tooi'm worried about cars/her being old^ thanks. i NEED positive outlookfor a second i almost started to believe in god because i said "please god let us find her" and we found her alright. like 7 times. ugh why didn't i ask to CATCH HER. dammit![Edited on November 25, 2009 at 12:28 AM. Reason : .]
11/25/2009 12:27:20 AM
if she is from a shelter she is microchipped, at least if she's from the spca
11/25/2009 12:28:43 AM
exactly. and i know wake county microchips. how old is that technology been widespread (like in shelters)? my cat is 4 and they microchipped when i got her and this dog is like 10 but she was adopted about 5 - 6 years ago. do you think that is pre microchipping?!
11/25/2009 12:29:48 AM
Does the dog like car rides? When our old dog used to get loose we could usually get her back by getting in the car, driving slowly down the road, and then stopping and opening the door. She'd hop right on in.
11/25/2009 12:30:08 AM
oh we tried that. we tried with several different cars. no luck.she likes car rides i think i don't know i just met her tonight for like 5 seconds until she bolted. ahhhh and i'm scared my dad is going to stress out and like have a stroke and he was like trampling through the woods and like his coordination isn't like 100% he was like stumbling on rocks. ugh this is the worst for so many reasons
11/25/2009 12:31:39 AM
its been around awhile. but even if she isn't, she has tags. if she is at a shelter they will do everything possible to get in contact with whoever's info is on the tags.
11/25/2009 12:32:07 AM
well... just think... you'll have a conclusion in the next three days. good or bad.
11/25/2009 12:32:50 AM
ok. cause the owner isn't leaving town until tomorrow afternoon. we just got her tonight cause it would be easier cause my dad saw her tonight for shag lessons and he just picked the dog up after. i'm just scared if they find her and she's already out of town like they'll call her house and she won't be there. though my cell number is on my animals tags/microchips so maybe hers is too.
11/25/2009 12:33:20 AM
Sorry, kadwhackle. Just leave the door open and let her come in on her own. She'll get tired of not seeing people and not having food. Dog will come back, they almost always do.Hope you feel better too, walking pneumonia sucks!
11/25/2009 12:33:49 AM
khcadwal i would give you a "Christian side hug" if i were there.
11/25/2009 12:34:20 AM
she is probably just lurking out in the neighborhood. control your voice, and call for it in a happy and relaxed tone.
11/25/2009 12:34:30 AM
Good luck! Hope you guys find her.
11/25/2009 12:34:53 AM
just check the shelters and if she isn't there let them know she is lost and if they find her to call you.
11/25/2009 12:35:02 AM
thanks i will. i'm hoping that she's doing what my dog would do when she ran. she'd stay near our voices but like hide out in the woods cause she didn't want to get in trouble.
11/25/2009 12:35:42 AM
also, let me know if there is an english bulldog or pug...i wnat one
11/25/2009 12:36:03 AM
and im sry khcadwal my kitty runnoft a year or so ago and I was complete wreck. I found him later on so keep yer hopes up ok
11/25/2009 12:36:09 AM
11/25/2009 12:36:12 AM
well that's why you should NEVER punish a dog or give them anything but love and treats after an episode like this.
11/25/2009 12:36:21 AM
I had to chase a cat through a neighborhood and woods once. There were lots of tears that weren't my own and we failed miserably at catching it.It finally came home and once it became an inside cat I woke up many a morning with cuts and scratches from said cats claws.I hate cats.
11/25/2009 12:39:27 AM
did you try just putting out a bowl of hot food and seeing if that attracted her to come back to the house? my dog always came back when i put food out.
11/25/2009 12:40:55 AM
your reason # is about to set em up.
11/25/2009 12:43:07 AM
11/25/2009 12:43:43 AM
yea well the problem is she has only been here once before so i don't think she is familiar with the neighborhood but i did put hot food and water out. and i like was kinda loud about doing it incase she was hiding in the woods. so she'd know it was there and could come out after we went inside.but i just don't know if she will be able to get back to our house. if she knew where she was (like if ishe was familiar with this neighborhood) we probably wouldn't have chased her for so long. cause when my dog ran away she'd always come back. we worried a little about cars and stuff.i think the worst part is it is someone ELSE'S dog like - at least if it was our dog then oh well it is our dog. but now we have to tell someone else we lost their dog.^ lol. that might be your only redeeming post ever[Edited on November 25, 2009 at 12:45 AM. 11/25/2009 12:44:30 AM
man that sucks, and i definitely know how you feeleverytime, i swear EVERYTIME, when i started watching my sister-in-law's dog when she was young she would bolt out the door at the earliest opportunity (escape artist like whoa). I'd spend the next 2.5-4 hours chasing her down only for her to bolt when i got close. as she got older it's been less and less, but she'll still escape occasionally...and man is she quick still and now she's losing her hearing, so when she does bolt she can't hear you call her as well.good luckdon't fret too much though...you'll get her/she'll come back.
11/25/2009 12:45:08 AM
dont feel bad, one time i was fixing someones computer and accidentally wiped out all thier family photosi dont know which is worse, losing a dog or mine, but yeah i get what i feels like
11/25/2009 12:47:11 AM
I was filming a wedding once, and missed the first half due to technical difficulties
11/25/2009 12:48:36 AM
