That's all well and good if your family lives close by, but Holiday's are the only time I will see my immediate family all at the same time all year long.

I live in Raleigh, my parents and brother live near San Francisco and my sister lives in New York City (as of Dec 4)... We all get work off/can take vacations around Christmas.

Exactly. I mean I'm not a complete hermit but and I can see how not having anyone who wanted to be with you (as opposed to not being able to be with you) would suck, but I'm around people who demand my time every other day. A quiet day at home is nice every once in a while.

Not really alone, but most of it with my wife in the hospital. She slept most of the day.

Went home in the PM to work on the house renovation and then met my in-laws late for dinner at Carolina Ale House.

Then came back to the hospital where my wife is sleeping still.

So, it's been great.

Dinner itsekf was basically alone. sat at the kiddie table with my older sister and 3younger cousins. After they ate they all booked, so it was just my sister and I. With a huge 55in TV in our face with the cowboys game playing.
