i mean specifically for law enforcement
and in NC you have to maintain your certification through in service training and be working in law enforcement without a break for more than two years
if you work in another state and move to NC you have to take 96 hours of mandatory training and take our state board exam...i dunno maybe its just NC

In NC you can take a night class to get your certification. As stated earlier, you only have to be sworn (could be through a private company, as a reserved working a few hours a month) and complete in-service (firearms, state mandated topics) to keep your certification.

its amazing the number of people here that don't click on links but decide to post about the content anyway.

He went to an LA police academy over 20 years ago, was certified, and was then asked to be a deputy chief even though he told the then police chief (now deceased) that he couldn't do it full time. Which was followed by 'do what you can when you can' by the police chief at the time. He was noticed and recruited because of his expert marksman and his knowledge in marshal arts.
