TV 2 is a little bigger, but TV1 refreshes faster. Depends on what you want.

shopping at best buy is one way to throw away money.

[Edited on December 5, 2009 at 5:50 PM. Reason : I got a 42" plasma for much less... 720p though]

I'm completely aware of the first part, but I was hoping someone else would tell me what I want

stick with samsung or panasonic if you want the best quality. what is your viewing distance? are you watching any 1080p content (blu-rays, etc)?

i plan on sticking to samsung or if I could afford it mitsubishi (i can't)

this is going to be a bedroom/dorm room tv so 32-37 inches is pretty much perfect.

right now i'll just be using it for xbox 360 (many of my games can do 1080p), cable, and at times as a second monitor for my laptop.

i've got a 42" in my prison cell of a bedroom... I'm glad I didn't go smaller

but a 32-37" would be fine. I'd stick with the higher refresh rate unless you can get a 37" with a lower refresh rate at a much better deal (if you care for a deal)

I can get both tv's cheaper than that listed price, i'm not exactly sure what that price is, but I know the price on that 37 inch I posted is 50-100 bucks cheaper than what best buy is listing

that 32" tv went off sale so either I need to find another place I can find it cheap or pick a new tv!

you can help if you want. desired specs:
-32" or 37" (40" if it's a steal of a price)
-1080p
-Good brand name (Samsung prefered)
-Contrast ratio better than 60000:1
-2+ HDMI ports
-1+ Component port
-Some sort of audio out I could easily use for a sound system (Headphone jack probably prefered)
-Prefer to stay under $800

Anyone heard of sonicelectronix.com?

save up and get one of the samsung LED tvs. my philosophy on life is that a man's worth is based solely on how sweet his tv is.

why are you getting a 1080P television that is less than 42"? seems kind of pointless.

go with Samsung for LCD. excellent picture quality.

^why the fuck not? it's higher quality picture. plus the one I really want has a 100000:1 contrast ratio, like 4 HDMI inputs...

one thing to understand about sonicelectronix.com. While their prices are great and hard to beat buying from them voids every manufactureres warranty. If something goes wrong with your TV you will only be able to negotiate with sonic in regards to a fix or replacement. Not saying this is a bad thing, but may be worth thinking about before spending that kind of money on something.

I had no idea who they were so i figured I'd ask tdub before I tried to buy anything from them. I was going to be able to buy the tv I wanted from crutchfield for like 746.99 but it went off sale and now I can only get it for 820ish

i've never really heard any horror stories, they came up a lot on a car stereo forum i was on for a bit when i was trying to get my truck hooked up. the more experienced members always just heeded the warning when people asked about purchasing head units and stuff from them. But they get a lot of business so if you can deal with not having a real warranty it may be a pretty good buy.
