what I got...wtf?Hello ,I will quickly give you a simple description of the apartment so that you can decide if it is ok for your schedule or not. The one bedroom Studio apartment was furnished to the taste of every modern day business minded person. I and my husband wanted to use it personally when he was transferred to work there but he was later transferred to Victoria Garden city, Lagos Nigeria , so we left together with the keys and locked up the place since we still have all our valuable things inside the apartment.I am originally from St. Andrews Scotland but I fell in love with an America man so I married him, we have been married for close to 20years now and we havea lovely kids, a boys and a girl, My husband is a music producer and he is an hardworking man and is always on the move so I am left to take care of the issue of getting a good tenant for the apartment. The apartment will be free for the next 1 year and 5 months and we are OK with any long or shot term rental. The apartment is loaded with all the utilities like, wireless Internet, electricity, water, refrigerator, water heater, Laundry Facilities, Parking Available, Satellite TV, stove and Oven. Every thing is included in the rental of (600 USD). We made the rent low so that the tenant can help us take good care of the place for the time we will be away. The entire floors are made of polished fine woods and it needs cleaning regularly to keep it in form and shining. The fancy lights bring out the beauty at night. The picture on the wall of the bedroom cost us a lot and need care in handling it. The bed is large enough for 2/3 persons to sleep and the floor will need constant cleaning as well. When I visited him I was fascinated by the kitchen materials I saw so I equipped my kitchen to the taste of every one that love cooking. But if you don’t want to cook make sure the kitchen is clean and every thing locked up safe for me.The bathroom is made of woods all thrum and it has every thing you can think of except I don’t know that thing you need there that was not included. There is even a cosmetic shelf in the bathroom and it is for both males and females. If you are staying for up to 1 year 1 month rent will be paid in advance, and if you are staying for bellow 5 months 1-month rent will be paid in advance if

It's a scam.I posted an ad on CL when I was looking to rent out one of the rooms in my house. I got a ton of responses from people outside of the country. The story was always pretty much the same. "I am transfering to the US for work and need a place to stay. I will pay you all of the rent up front, so just let me know how much it will be. My company is paying for it. All I need is a small loan from you right now to cover my moving expenses."Some of them would even go on to tell me that they would do all the cooking and cleaning. They would also send me pictures, and they were always hot chicks. I started a thread about it, I will see if I can find it.

Why can't the fucking scammers all just die or get real jobs or something.
12/10/2009 1:01:16 AM
Would be too easy...Her husband is an artist.....so why the hell was he asked to go to Nigeria? After all, she did marry a "America man"
12/10/2009 10:40:12 AM
She married an "America man" not an American man. He thinks he's all-American but lacks the citizenship.

Why is this a scam? This is a message from someone OFFERING house and they're not asking for a loan, just a typical deposit. Granted, the people will be out of the country while you live there, but that's not all that unusual for this kind of arrangement. It's basically house-sitting.Craigslist is full of quirky people who've never rented to anyone in their life, so I'm not surprised this isn't a polished letter from a real-estate agent.

It looks like it's written by a scammer, but whats the point in scamming someone into moving into your fully-furnished apartment? What is the scammer going to do? Take your rent checks and then disappear with the apartment?

^^The apartment doesn't exist. And as stated in the email 1 months rent is needed in advance which they are going to request that they wire to them in Nigeria before they will send you the keys to the place that doesn't exist. Hell, they aren't even going to waste the time mailing you fake keys either.[Edited on December 10, 2009 at 6:18 PM. Reason : .]
