im sure whoever wrote that to you was just surprised at a facebook friend request because they hadnt talked to you in a long time, and that they are probably sorry for the unintentionally sour tone of the PM.

i personally dont normally accept friend requests from people I only know via internet, so maybe this person is the same way. did he/she accept the request?
