So I bought some jeans and when I did I was in more of a traditional mood, so I went with this color: http://us.levi.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3672676&cp=3146842.3146844.3146854.3691997Whereas in the past I would have bought something flashier like this:http://us.levi.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3584257&cp=3146842.3146844.3146854.3691998or http://us.levi.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3632700&cp=3146842.3146844.3146854.3691998Is the color I got too old man-ish? Should I return them and get one of the 559's? (second set of pictures are 559's). I can't make up my mind
12/12/2009 3:03:46 PM

12/12/2009 3:04:26 PM
ok this is just my opinionbut the first ones are the jeans my dad wears. like they don't just look like them, they ARE them.so i'd return and go with a different choice.(my dad is 60 if that answers your question)[Edited on December 12, 2009 at 3:05 PM. Reason : .]

^^That's why I need to get the right jeans, so I can get laid!and ^ that's what I was thinking.[Edited on December 12, 2009 at 3:05 PM. Reason : .]
12/12/2009 3:05:22 PM
i only wear dark blue 527s and i get laid all the timeyou should try that
12/12/2009 3:07:38 PM
I find it odd that you're set on Levi jeans. I'm not sure why I find it odd, but I do.
12/12/2009 3:08:53 PM
i don't wear jeansand get laid all the timewait wat[Edited on December 12, 2009 at 3:09 PM. Reason : ps dont buy levi jeans. all of them look like either old man jeans or "trying not to be old man" ]
12/12/2009 3:08:58 PM
^^^you are married it is sort of differentalso. i second what khcadwal said]
12/12/2009 3:10:29 PM
I wear DKNY and CK jeans, and I never ever ever get laid.

I am open to new brands.
12/12/2009 3:19:14 PM
How's it going Denim Dan? You look like the president, chairman, and CEO of Levi Straus. Hey where'd you get the Canadian tuxedo? lol
12/12/2009 3:21:06 PM
i never said they weren't acceptable apparel. i wear them all the time..mainly when I'm working on a car or somethingbut if you're going for 'style'ish", then no, they aren't a very good brand. if you're looking for cheap/last a long ass time..then yea, they're awesome
12/12/2009 3:22:00 PM
I don't make much money right now, so I can't buy expensive jeans. I don't need something that will get me laid just off of the brand.. just something that wont turn women away.
12/12/2009 3:23:40 PM
i dunno about last a long timei usually have to buy a new pair every 12 months
12/12/2009 3:24:09 PM
i used to would only wear the $20 levi signatures from walmart, but recently deemarie introduced me to the wrangler relaxed fit from walmart and i have concluded that while they aren't as durable as the levis, they are more comfortable.
12/12/2009 3:25:34 PM
Laid off the brand? wtf?Anyway... just go to Marshall's or Filene's or something and get a $40 pair of jeans that are not Levi or some other lame or generic brand (NO OLD NAVY)[Edited on December 12, 2009 at 3:27 PM. Reason : and kiss your dick goodbye if you get a pair of wranglers]

I'm the one who wants some jeans
12/12/2009 3:31:36 PM
what about 'lucky brand'? I don't know jack shit about them but I heard there's an outlet right down the road and this girl got all excited when she heard that (she was standing beside me).
12/12/2009 3:32:05 PM
can you not just go to like, the gap or something?
12/12/2009 3:34:58 PM
I refuse to go to stores like the gap, old navy, hollister, etc
12/12/2009 3:35:31 PM
how come?i mean hollister haha...that is definitely not acceptable past like 8th grade.is jcrew and/or banana republic on the list of stores you won't go into? my bf has some jeans and pants from jcrew and gap and possibly banana. [Edited on December 12, 2009 at 3:37 PM. Reason : .]

12/12/2009 3:39:43 PM
I just don't like going to stores like that, that only carry clothing that they make (with the exception of factory outlet stores obviously). I don't know why, I just always hated those places.

12/12/2009 3:45:32 PM
Lucky Brand jeans are good, but they're usually expensive. If there's an outlet I'd take advantage, but make sure it isn't just an outlet of their reject jeans.

12/12/2009 3:50:39 PM
I'll check lucky brand. I heard this guy got his for like 35-40 which is in the high range for levis anyway.
12/12/2009 3:51:16 PM
i have to get a pair of jeans in the next few days cuz there is a 50% sale at the local diesel store and my current pair of diesel has worn out (knees only, rest is in great condition).but, i hate jeans shopping, as there is so much variety. i went there a few days ago and they had about 15-20 different ones. but i guess if i factor in price, my choice will be limited. i don't want to pay more than $70-80. (and before the sale, the cheapest was $160)p.s. that jeans from the 1st link the other 2 are hot, esp the darker one. that's what i am aiming to get.[Edited on December 12, 2009 at 3:54 PM. Guys who wear the first ones linked don't give a shit, and I'm into that.Other girls are dumb.
12/12/2009 4:07:31 PM
^that's what i'm talkin about
12/12/2009 4:57:58 PM
outside of work or formal events, I pretty much only wear jeans out. In addition to that, I've only gotten 3 pairs of jeans in the past 6.5 years I think. I get them slightly darker at first and they are all fairly light now They are all American Eagle and were a great deal when I got them. I used to get Levis though in HS. I like my jeans pretty slim with a small boot-cut.Also, when I came in this thread, I was expecting COLORED jeans such as:not just similar shades of blue [Edited on December 12, 2009 at 5:24 PM. i've given up on getting laid, so its dark cheap wranglers, or whatever the cheap mom-jeans du jour are.
12/12/2009 5:31:11 PM
just go into Guess and get some jeans that aren't giant boot fit, have button pockets on the ass, or are ripped/stained and $profitand make sure they fit on your ass and you don't look like you took a dump in your jeans....
12/12/2009 5:36:16 PM
ew. guess.
12/12/2009 5:49:02 PM
random trivia....the guy who invented jeans has has the same genes as me...we come from a common ancestor. Also the people who grow avacados in California.
12/12/2009 5:52:14 PM
i dislike light colored jeans.
12/12/2009 6:08:44 PM
i own a pair of each of the last two in the OPshould i be FMLing?
12/12/2009 6:16:14 PM
indie blue > dark stonewash > low tide559s > 550si mean, i prolly wouldn't say that they are "too old man-ish," but i care more about whether or not someone dresses poorly than whether or not someone dresses hiply
12/12/2009 6:22:45 PM
12/12/2009 8:38:30 PM
I feel like that color and style of jeans screams "farmer" more so than "old man." As long as the waistband isn't at your navel, you are probably age-appropriate.
12/12/2009 8:41:19 PM
Shit, I'm supposed to judge guys based on what jeans they wear?I am so bad at being a girl.
12/12/2009 8:42:22 PM
When I last went shopping for jeans, I had to go to Eddie Bauer to get some that didn't fit like emo-fag shit. Most of what I found (including Levi's) were going the hip-hugger route.
12/12/2009 9:07:16 PM
12/12/2009 10:07:58 PM
We're debating between shades of blue? I was expecting at least some purple jeans or something.
12/12/2009 10:08:54 PM
Congratulations, man. Glad you found something you liked.
