Now, before I start, OK, I get it...Sammy's is not popular on this board. I can sort of understand that. Although I can't understand why people prefer Jax to it, given what they charge, especially on liquor.

But OK, moving on. I go with a group of friends there a lot of Wednesdays. I seem to recall that once upon a time Sammy's trivia was popular with members of this crowd. Is that still the case? Or am I so far behind the curve as to be lame beyond salvation?

Cueva de Lobos is pretty cool, but it seems pretty damn small for group events like that. I guess maybe I should try it, but at this point I'm emotionally invested with the other.

From what I understand, Sammy is a douche. (I don't have any opinion on the matter, this is just what I've deduced from reading TWW)

I've also not heard good things about Sammy. However, I've gone to his bar fairly often for years and never met the guy until last week, and in my brief meeting he did not exude douchiness.

I went to bada a few times shortly after it opened, and found the food to be expensive and mediocre. Perhaps I should try again.

I do not care for Ruckus. I gather that it's the popular spot now, but every time I've been it's been entirely too crowded for my taste.

napper tandy's is/has been the best trivia ive ever gone to. thats on tuesday nights at 7 i think. havent been in over a year though. they have a couple other games they play after trivia and ive spent a few nights there til 2am. plus the games after trivia give you a chance to win $1000. not sure if they still do that, but me and ncsugirl nearly won it. they play a mock deal or no deal game. (we were down to last 3 cases and i decided to go for it like a moron)

when i was playing softball, the winning team would get free beer at sammys. if a game got canceled due to rain, it would be rescheduled to the next week. 2 or 3 times we won 2 games in a day but sammy would only give us 1 beer.
