I'm already mentally preparing myself and planning to keep the visit short and sweet. Post your stories here!

There is NO WAY Christmas can be worse than thanksgiving or Christmas last year.

NO FUCKING WAY

Of course now that I've said that - shits gonna go down.

I hate people with all the Christmas spirit who expect you to have it too. If it wasn't for the break from school/work I wouldn't give a shit.

I'm hoping my dad doesn't announce how he won't mind if I'm dead at Christmas like he did at Thanksgiving.

This is a girl thing, right?

Family drama with my group doesn't last very long at all. I'll make an effort to drink it out with them or to simply man up and make amends/apologize (even if I am sure that I'm not in the wrong). It's not worth it to keep bad blood between family members.

Theres no way Christmas can be as worse as thanksgiving was at my house. At thanksgiving, my cousin showed up with her child who is like 2 years old. the baby happens to be black/white mixed and my grandfather with Alzheimer's disease proceeded to ask " how did this mudshark child get in the house?" and proceeded to claim the child was trying to steal his wallet the entire time becuase it was half black. the kicker was after he got done eating he went on a racial rant and my aunt and uncle proceeded to walk out. so hopefully Christmas will be a little bit better..

I chuckled at 'mudshark' - I've never heard that term.

Did you aunt and uncle leave because they were bothered by the rant and held him responsible for it, or did they leave because there was simply no point in sticking around old Alzypa?

Hmmm ... the fam should be fine. Mom will talk incessantly and Dad will ask us when he's getting grandkids. We'll tell him never, unless he wants mulattos. Then he'll ask me, "Who was that man I heard you talking to when you accidentally called me?" I'll tell him it was a colleague, not a romantic interest. So he'll get bored and go out in the yard and start shooting things.

The better drama will be with friends. Hopefully no threesome propositions this time. I've been propositioned for three threesomes over holidays ... somewhat awkward, not really dramatic though.

Family drama around my place usually means people getting annoyed at my granddad for telling the same story too many times, or something like that, I've never seen shit go down at christmas/thanksgiving.

I never understood the whole holiday drama thing.

Best way to avoid holiday drama is to take up smoking.

I miss everything cause I'm outside smoking, or if I'm at my grandparents' house, I'm "going for a walk."

Also, I think I don't perceive what most people would consider drama to be drama.

I mean, if nobody calls the cops, shit's cool.

checking in! It's the same ole shit, but this year the extended family is starting to take notice of the shenanigans. *sigh*

I might be checking in again Saturday...as today was my mom's side of the family, Saturday is my dad's side which is much weirder b/c they're Canadian.

Seriously...know any Canadians? bunch of passive people...ticking timebomb I tell ya!
