try digging up "Led Zeppelin: The Lost Mixes, Vol. 1-4"

after a while you'll go blind trying to make it through the 32 minute version of "Friends"

Zeppelin was awesome until about age 15, not so much since. I mean, still good and all, but I cant listen to too much stuff about dragons and faeries. Still like some of their more bluesy stuff though

I didn't grow OUT of it

I grew tired of it

tired of it bringing back shitty memories from when I listened to it in high school

I think there might actually be some truth to this growing out of zeppelin thing

i love fool in the rain son.

^^ some good tracks, but i don't really care for "fool in the rain" and "carouselambra." and it's not like the remaining 5 songs are particularly stellar, although i love "southbound suarez" and "i'm gonna crawl." pretty sure jimmy page had some serious heroin problems when they recorded this album, and he and bonham didn't really contribute much to my knowledge. it's zep's weakest offering by far. i kind of wonder what would've became of them even if bonham hadn't died.

^^vonjordan and i are gonna come after you son.

^I figure that they would have had another good album or two and then have some break up like all the great bands end up doing.

I think they could have made another good album or two, it just probably would have been pretty damn far from zeppelin I

Live albums released after a band's demise shouldn't count as part of their catalog. They exist, and they might be good, but they're not something that the band, as a unit, worked on and approved as a piece that helps express their creative entity.

As for growing out of Zeppelin, I think the catalog is varied enough to appeal to everyone at some point in their musical development. I don't have much cause to listen to II these days, but I greatly enjoy Houses of the Holy, a record I didn't care for when I was younger.

^ yeah that was kind of my feeling regarding how the west was won considering it came out like 23 years after the band broke up. and houses of the holy would be flawless in my opinion if it wasn't for "the crunge." that song is absolutely terrible.
