Hell, i could use my Accord. Seriously, I've done amazing things with just a car.

On another note, I really miss my diesel. that thing would pull anything.

the truck in question is an excalade ext.

the battery has been going dead on it and cody couldnt figure out what the hell was going wrong.
we took it to the shop.
they supposedly fixed it (although they said it was just a dead battery-nothing was draining it...although we told them tthis has happened to THREE other batteries )
worked well for about 5 days, now its dead again
in the driveway blocking us in.

we would get it towed but the cadilac place is closed and we dont want to just leave it up there.

yeah, that's what I have... can you jump it and get it going for a little bit, at least long enough to get to an autozone or sears or something?

Bad alternator perhaps? Take it off an run it up to autozone and they can test it for you.

I could probably pull it out of the way with my Tacoma if it's just a matter of moving it down a driveway.

the way its parked in the driveway we cant jump it (uless someone wants to drive up here and even then we may not be able to b/c of tress)

cody thinks it the starter
whatever the hell that is

[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:01 PM. Reason : ^nope got the alternator test....its fine. ]

[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:01 PM. Reason : ^yeah all we need is to try and get it in the street so we can have something to drive today ]

i can get it out of your driveway, but that's as far as I can get it. I have plenty of vehicles that will pull it, but not down the road. PM me if you want.

yeah if you've already checked the alternator then it's prob the starter.

Sir...it's called a parasitic loss, and a damn starter doesn't really have a means of doing that. Unless yer an auto tech, shut your mouth...er...fingers.

yeah, but it's easier and probably quicker to ask someone here for help.

we can help them out. plus we only want it towed about 20 feet.

Got a tow strap or rope? Cherokee would pull it down the driveway no problem. With a dolly, I'll take it anywhere in Wake.

it's been going dead slowly?

just for kicks try this

take a screwdriver and give each battery terminal a couple of good hard smacks. i fixed chixnhed's car like a bazillion times like that

perfect weather for it to lose contact there

and if that's not what is happening you are having something draining the battery while the car is off. seen it on quite a few NEW GM vehicles

most mechanics will be reluctant to look up how to fix it online, so do a few searches and figure it out yourself. search "escalade" "grounding out" "draining battery" tell your mechanic "my old mechanic told me that was what it was but he like retired or something" or they'll just ignore you

may be a dumb question : Why dont you take the battery in the white car in the truck, move the truck, put it back in the car?

I have a truck if you have a chain or tow strap.

Where are you located?

How far does it need to be towed?

Does it need to be towed down a street or road?

I've got jumper cables, multimeter, some 3/8" rope (if the truck is in neutral, this will work, if it's not in neutral, we'll use the jumper cables to power the solenoid to shift it into neutral).

i've got a multimeter. i don't know how to check the relays though. i checked the fuses that i would think would be of concern and they look good.

^^^ short answer is i don't think it's a battery problem.

Oh I swear.

All you'd need is jumper cables, some rope and a riding mower to move it down your driveway.

Got a grade on that hill? I'm guessing it's not enough that a mower can't pull a truck up a hill in the low gear. Mowers have a good bit of tug.
