i'm actually a huge white stripes fan, so i know what song she covered. the white stripes have been around for about 10 years, and their first big single was this song back in like 2001-2002

joss stone covered it and substituted the word "girl" for "boy" wherever appropriate, and the the name sarah for bobby in the line "bobby says it's fine, he don't consider it cheating now." it's one of the lamest covers i've ever heard.

+1 for awesomeness of joss stone

I didn't care much for the "Fell in Love with a Boy" cover but I liked the "Diggin' on You" song

+1 to Rat Soup for dropping knowledge...I was not aware of that

Kinda reminds me of this little serenade I did for a shorty when I did the opposite opposite of that, ie substituting 'girl' for 'boy'

this is necessary to post though

I mean I need more than a voice to get me off, but god damn if Joss' "oooh...ooooh OOOOH OOOH ooh" isn't some of the sexiest shit I've ever heard lyrically

It's not my favorite song by her. That would be "Dirty Man".

I also have a massive crush on this chick.

they're not exactly a "little" band save for the fact that there's only 2 members in it.

they are damn good, and all 6 of their albums are either fantastic or at least very solid. "seven nation army" was pretty damn popular and pretty damn overplayed when it came out in 03. even if you don't listen to rock i'd find it very hard to believe that you wouldn't have heard that song. and "we're going to be friends" was the song from the opening credits in napoleon dynamite. i know they've also performed on the grammys and have probably racked up a pretty significant amount of record sales. i don't really care about radio play or album sales or grammy shit, but they're just examples of your lack of awareness of the band being more on you than it is on them because they've certainly been fairly prominent for the better part of the last decade.

I like the White Stripes but I don't know any Joss Stone songs.

Not even sure who she is, whenever I hear her name I always think Norah Jones.
