Unreal Tournament was the first I saw actually indicate headshots, but it went back farther. Quake II had multi-zone damage detection (where a shot to the head with a rail was instant death, while the foot only injured them.) Soldier of Fortune introduced multi-zone reactions, where you could shoot them in the foot and they'd actually be injured - walked slower, etc. Blowing off legs was not necessarily a kill, and that made things very interesting.I'd still say Q2 was it though... QWTF had headshots for snipers, so it was at least quake1 era
