They are putting new tires on my car... They said since the old ones were showing metal I needed new ones. Does this sound right to you? The old ones only have 40k miles on them but since they were only worn out on the side it was my fault and wouldn't honor the warranty.Oh well keep me entertained tdub. Hulu or netflix won't work on my phone

yes, if the belts were showing, they are unsafeand yes, you should have the suspension aligned and check your tire pressure every couple weeks to possibly prevent this in the future[Edited on December 22, 2009 at 3:24 PM. Reason : depending on the tire, 40k isn't that bad]

An alignment every few weeks? My tire pressure has been fine.

no, just check the pressure every couple weekshave it aligned when they put new tires on it

I'd ask to see one of the tires. If it's much worse on one side than the other, then you definitely need an alignment. Sometimes places like firestone will tell you that so that they dont have to honor their warranty on the tires.

That's what I thought. I did get an alignment when I got them. Hey when you rotate tires do you just go from front to back or do you change the side too?
12/22/2009 3:30:06 PM
i alternate between front to back and diagonally
12/22/2009 3:31:06 PM
^^yeah it is definitely worn down more on one side
