I'm tempted just to throw them away. I go to the dry cleaners about once a week. Does a charitable organization want these? Will my dry cleaner want them?

my housekeeper either takes them home with her or returns them to the dry cleaners when she's dropping off or picking up my clothes

Straighten one out and hook both ends so it will hang and be retained by spring force under your bumper. This will get you out of one of those, "Oh damn my keys are in the ignition" situations unless you have a fancy-pants car with extra protection in the door.

if they are metal, then expand them out and bend several of them together, so that you've got a flexible metal rod 10-20 feet longthen, sneak up to the doorway of a room where someone is watching TV, and poke them]

^ Or expand them all out and make the largest wire hanger ever! Big enough to even hold Rosie O'Donnell's pants.
