What are some movies out there that are set in North Carolina.

I mean obviously all those Nicholas Sparks books, and Bull Durham, Cape Fear, but what are some others.

I'm not talking about the ones that were filmed here, but the ones where the story has to do with them living in north carolina.

google pretty much leaves me with all the studios and casting calls and what movies were filmed here.

I do dislike the southern accent that the actors think is so good. It's all the same accent.

agreed. Cold Mountain is one long grating gag-fest of bad accents.

Right off the top of my head I think natalie portman can do a pretty good southern accent, I just recently saw Where the Heart Is, and it sounds pretty decent.

But I guess doing a southern accent is harder than it seems.

I really only like reading Nicholas Spark books that are set right around here. Like I liked A Walk to Remember and The Choice, but only cause they are set right here.
I know a few people who have met the guy and said he is the biggest douche bag. I can see it. Also, if he is going to write a book that is set right near where he lives he should at least make sure minor details are real. Like saying two people met at the Target in town....there is no damn target around here.

Romance novels are bad for me. Well really most novels are bad for me. I love to read, but my imagination is so vivid that even when I'm done with the book I get delusional and start believing that it's all true.

Harry Potter, love those books, but damn, I'm constantly on the look out for signs of magic

Return to Mayberry

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_to_Mayberry

btw, don't waste your time watching this one. I had to shut it off after about 20 minutes because it sucked so bad. Its only purpose was to show that all of the old cast members now had gray hair and that Opie was an adult.
