morons are gonna kill off tuna and several whale species

so what? the one in 2001 went for $43k more and weighed 73lbs lesstuna that big are comparatively rare since they're either caught before they get very big or they die from chemical contamination before they have a chance to grow to their full size...hence the premium

Tuna that big must be quite high in toxic chemicals compared to much smaller ones. If the restaurant owners paid that much money, it means they must be able to get more out of it from their sushi. But how long will it last? Are they going to freeze it and then daily cut off portions and defrost them to make sushi?

I bet they could get rid of it in two days. It's Japan, and if they are dropping that much on a fish they probably have large upscale sushi restaurants capable of getting rid of 250 lbs of tuna in a couple days.Otherwise I'm sure they wouldn'tve bought it.What I don't get is the whole $350/lb. aspect [Edited on January 5, 2010 at 6:23 PM.
