1/6/2010 11:42:34 AM
If I get a glass when I get to work in the morning I'm thirsty all day and drink a ton and have to pee every 20 minutes. If I don't get one and just nurse coffee all morning I hardly drink any.
1/6/2010 11:42:49 AM
i think the thing i heard about half your weight in ounces is to help you lose weight, drinking more water to keep you full
1/6/2010 11:42:52 AM
Don't drink 64oz of water a day + a glass of juice at breakfast + a coffee + a couple sodas. Water is in all three of the others.
1/6/2010 11:43:48 AM
I drink a LOT of water in a day. I keep my glass full pretty much all day at work. And I do the same at home, really. It's a pretty huge glass, and I go through, geez, at least six or seven glasses just as work.
1/6/2010 11:46:27 AM
If I'm working, 100+ oz per dayif not 24 -32 oz per day

1/6/2010 11:50:38 AM
ok then, how many liters a day smarty pants?
1/6/2010 11:53:12 AM
just saying mang, 16.9oz = .5 liters
1/6/2010 11:55:32 AM
i drink 64oz of green tea (it's weak, actually, since i don't bother brewing it anywhere near full strength) every day while i'm at work, and then another 32-48oz of water between the gym and just being thirstyclose to 100oz, but probably not above
1/6/2010 11:55:38 AM
so, about 2 liters a day
1/6/2010 11:57:31 AM
easily over 1.5 gallons, i pee clear...very little sodium, adequate potassium in the diet as well, it's like a firehose
1/6/2010 11:57:47 AM
i thought tea was a diuretic or something and dehydrates you though

supposively you only retain like 2/3 of the water from teas and sodas. idk i just heard that somewhere
1/6/2010 12:06:00 PM
GT coulda used Bobby Boucher last night
1/6/2010 12:12:16 PM
the water thing is stupid. what you should do instead is drink water when you are thirsty. Unless you are planning for some upcoming major activity its the best plan.
1/6/2010 12:24:14 PM
about 1.5 gallons a day, although some of it is in the form of diet soda at lunch and my PWO shake. the rest contains crystal light or benefiber. I almost never drink water by itself.

At least one of the posters in this thread has clearly had water on the brain for a while, judging by their mental impairment.[Edited on January 6, 2010 at 12:29 PM. Reason : sdf][Edited on January 6, 2010 at 12:30 PM. Reason : s=d]

1/6/2010 12:29:39 PM
Fill up my Nalgene in the morning and drink it in the car.Fill it up in the evening and drink it home.Thats 2 liters a day.
1/6/2010 12:37:00 PM
1/6/2010 12:44:29 PM
if you're never thirsty that means you are getting enough water
1/6/2010 12:48:01 PM
lol guess i get all i need from beer?
1/6/2010 1:27:34 PM
drink enough water so you don't feel thirstyyour body is pretty good at letting you know when you need shit... like water, for instance.
1/6/2010 1:29:29 PM
1/6/2010 1:42:59 PM
waiting to drink until you are thirsty isn't the best planyou become dehydrated before you feel thirsty
1/6/2010 1:47:42 PM
i drink shit during the day when i feel like it. if i'm actually thirsty i chug a bottle of water.

A lot of people confuse hunger for calories with thirst for water.
1/6/2010 2:02:15 PM
I usually drink 1.5-2 liters of water a day if at work. If I'm not at work its a fair amount less.

the people who drink tons of water are the same as the type of people who buy detox stuff to rid their bodies of "toxins" your body has it covered, don't worry about it
1/6/2010 3:03:00 PM
1/6/2010 3:03:05 PM
meh, waste of money, tap water or even filtered tap water isn't gonna be that wasteful considering we only actually drink a very small portion of the fresh water we use... (why we don't use non-potable water for toilets and urinals is nutty (work environment at least) keep your dogs out of it at home)
1/6/2010 3:12:09 PM
I drink usually ~120 oz out of my nalgene (tap water) a day, plus 2 glasses of unsweetened tea with every meal and i'd assume the glasses are about a pint each.
1/6/2010 3:25:36 PM
1/6/2010 4:03:02 PM
i'm talking about detox diets and fasts that remove "toxins" i know that there are dangerous chemicals that can accumulate in your body. a GNC detox or detoxifying isn't removing any of those, if you have mercury poisoning or something you should go to the hospital. and most carcinogens are natural, they've always existedhttp://www.quackwatch.com/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/detox.htmlhttp://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/detox_overview.htmlhttp://www.skepdic.com/detox.html
