Last night my neighbor's car & my truck were struck by what could've only been a drunk driver, and not one person seems to have heard what would've been a horrendous crash sometime between 2 and 8 AM. 'Tis a bad day to only have liability coverage.

why do you only have liability? ive never understood this insurance strategy, even on a paid-for vehicle.

people suck though. because of the severity of that accident, you have a decent chance of the cops finding the person.

So the thread title may be a gross overestimation and parody of so & so's restoration thereof, whoops. My truck suffered a little damage to the fender above the wheel well & where the passenger door meets it, and I'll need a new front wheel since a nice chunk is missing, which'll surely fuck up its balance. I can assure you people, however, that 24 hours ago the truck was parked perpendicularly in its space!

Of course Officer Johnny Law couldn't believe it.

it usually doesn't make sense to carry collision insurance on vehicles with low value. it doesn't take much damage at all to total them.

i go to the patio door and check out shit i hear at my complex at least once or twice a week. usually it's somebody getting towed, but i still go look.

I guess my point is that if I was driving drunk and plowed into multiple cars, I probably wouldn't call the cops on myself. But if I backed into a car in the parking lot, I would leave a note.
