I used to hate beer and think it tasted awful. I stuck to hard liquor since it got the job done much faster and with a lot less liquid. However, after several extremely drunken nights I have since stopped drinking liquor and gone to beer. People always told me it was an acquired taste and I have to agree. There are definitely some that still taste god awful but if you try enough you will find ones that agree with your taste buds enough to be able to enjoy. This is my experience at least.

thanks for answering the question, but are you saying that you have found a beer that your are "able" to enjoy, as in you can handle its awfulness until you get drunk, or that you actually like its taste

and it still amazes me that some people drink beer just for the taste, does it remind them of being drunk, even if they arent?

I have found several beers that I really enjoy the taste of, Harvest Moon, Full Moon, Sam Adams Winter Lager, Warsteiner, Beck's Dark has a great front taste but I don't care as much for the after taste.

There are approximately 500 beers at Total Wine. Go get a sampler pack and find something you like. I recently stumbled upon Woodchuck and it's my new go-to on a random night.

Either way you're bound to find something good within 2-3 bottles.

Heineken is delicious in Amsterdam. It sucks pretty bad in America.

And holy shit do I love beer. It's right on par with Sweet Tea and Sun Drop in my eyes. I don't like all beers...but I do like a lot of them...and I absolutely love some of them.
