I live in Chapel Hill & worked in Carrboro (still deep in Tar Heel country), but did my undergrad at State, and I'm back at NCSU for grad school now. As a school, UNC Chapel Hill provides a solid educational opportunity to its students (I can attest first hand having taken a few classes there), as does NCSU and many schools in the UNC public school system and does its part to contribute to the research triangle. And the inter-institutional program we have between NCSU, UNC, & Duke makes all 3 schools the better for it. I'll throw my name behind backing the educational aspect of UNC any day (as I would and do for NCSU to those living here in Chapel Hill), but...

As far as sports go, I say have at it. I worked on the current mayor's election campaign, and enjoyed giving him grief over our last football confrontation. And I may be working at town hall over the summer, and if so there will definitely be some wolfpack paraphernalia going up in Chapel Hill's town hall if that happens.
