WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that corporations may spend as freely as they like to support or oppose candidates for president and Congress, easing decades-old limits on business efforts to influence federal campaigns.

my problem is with the average american citizen who doesn't get more information than what he got from some commercials before he votes

[Edited on January 24, 2010 at 9:33 PM. Reason : oh, and celebrity endorsements LOL]

[Edited on January 24, 2010 at 9:34 PM. Reason : if folks researched like they ought to, then the campaign $ wouldn't really matter]

If you don't like who they endorse, don't give them your fucking business. Then they won't have any money to donate. Most of the time, you have a choice.

I'm Barack Obama, and I approved this message -- sponsored by Bud Light! Fresh, smooth, real. It's all here.

I don't think an abstract entity created by law should be given more rights than an actual citizen. We don't have limited liability citizens, do we? We can't draft a McDonald's franchise to serve in the military during wartime.

But like the draft in the 50's, only the poor and unsuccessful McDonald's franchises would be conscripted.
