I need to determine the date of some photos that were emailed to me. The date created/modified on the file properties is the date I received the email. Is there any way to determine when the photos were taken if there is no date stamp? please guys, i have a match tonight

do they have jpeg exif data? if you go to windows explorer and open the properties, the advanced tab with the advanced data shown?

it might be in the metadata.or crack it open with a hex editor to see what might be in there

how do you get to the meta data? is this the same as the advanced tab on the properties? it has the camera type, resolution, some other stuff i don't remember, but no date field.

^advanced doesn't always show the full EXIF data - then again crappy cameras don't record full EXIF data either

hmm, i guess a cleverly worded response may be the best course of action then.

the photo is on my work computer. i probably shouldn't be posting up my customer's site in progress photos. i've give some of these options a shot when i get back in the office tomorrow. [Edited on January 27, 2010 at 11:40 PM. Reason : .]
