You and your P-90s.

That is, if you were the dude on this site always talking about P-90s.

That would be me. I would like to buy this doublecut outright and keep adding to my collection, but I ain't got the cash for it and the singlecut isn't my #1 Special.

I've been a casual guitar player for about 10 years, and call me out if this sounds like I'm too casual, but I highly doubt I'd be able to discern too much difference between the two.

There's a pretty serious tone difference between them...not better or worse, just different. They also both sound different than my three other P-90 guitars.

Mostly I can't decide whether I dislike the singlecut look as much as I think I do.

I've always been a single cut over double cut guy.

Les Paul yay.

SG nay.

I hate SGs. But I also hate Les Paul Standards.

Also, keep in mind that I already have one of these:

...so I've got the TV Yellow thing covered.

the second looks better IMO but I have no idea what the difference in sound is of course.

I like the new double cut more than your original double cut

but I don't know that I'd trade that single cut for it

you have a conundrum, sir

really, the only thing that has me thinking about the singlecut is this photo:

which is odd, because johnny thunders is most associated with a doublecut

nothing except what you've taught me. My opinion is based on looks and the red one looks silly with it's 2 blowbacks hangin out on the sides. Plus its red, ew.

hey guyz! we're dating but, instead of talking on the phone or in person like a normal couple, we choose to communicate over a message board! cool!

carry on.

You're right.

I should definitely make a phone call in order to say, "Woman, what you know 'bout guitars?"

Decision got made for me...someone rolled in and plunked down the cash for the red one before I could solidify a trade deal.

No biggie, that means I still have a use for the custom set of P-90s I had made for the singlecut.

it always rubs me raw when some hack who can barely pick owns a badass guitar.

^^ that's a tough question to answer without sounding like a jerk

i'm not the best player in town by any means

but i'd say i can hold my own with the second tier of professional players around here

while i was at the guitar shop a guy bought a 1956 gibson lap steel

when he came in, someone else (a guy who's a very good lap steel player) was playing it

once the player left, this other guy bought it because it's a 1956 gibson...he didn't even play lap steel

i am 99% sure he's going to part it out, especially for the pickup

despite the fact that it's a beautiful 100% original guitar, and the guy who was playing it made it sound wonderful

i hate people who buy wonderful instruments to hang them on a wall or part them out

it's no wonder that the dude who bought it was talking about the mesa triple rectifier he owns...an amp that is owned only by ultra-heavy metal players or rich douchebags
