I owe about the same to NC as I get back from the federal, and after paying for e-filing I'm in the hole. Same story last year, it's all friggin bulltinkleI don't want my money paying Bev Perdue's salary
1/29/2010 6:59:05 PM

1/29/2010 6:59:28 PM

1/29/2010 7:01:22 PM
i got dat 190% tax refund
1/29/2010 7:01:36 PM
how you manage to get a federal refund thats the same as what you owe the state? Are they both relatively low figures?
1/29/2010 7:02:37 PM
"hello, i'm bev perdue the governor""hello i'm bev perdue the governor""hello i'm bev perdue the governor"this is what she says at least 83279483072 more times before she shops at the store i work atwe know who you are. stop bothering the customers biatch!
1/29/2010 7:02:48 PM

1/29/2010 7:05:09 PM
1/29/2010 7:05:27 PM
moxie kidsa kids boutique in cameron village
1/29/2010 7:05:39 PM
she just rolls up to people in a retail store and introduces herself?god this state is fucked.
1/29/2010 7:07:00 PM
hahaha yesthen she buys a bunch of shit. but first she introduces herself to everyone in the store. and then she acts like she is the only customer in the store and that she is important people.
1/29/2010 7:09:37 PM
my god.seriously.this state hurts my head. THERE USED TO BE SO MUCH PROMISE
1/29/2010 7:10:35 PM
Eh, quit your bitchin. At least its not NY state tax. Or worse yet... NY state + NYC tax.
1/29/2010 7:10:53 PM
I actually don't find that problematic. I wish more government officials actually spent time out in public. Then it would be easier for the public to voice their displeasure. I'd love to ask Bev what in the hell they're doing with all the money they're taking from us. 20th highest rates in the country and our state education system and our roads still suck.My W-2s this year make me cringe. I made more money than I ever had before, but I also paid the equivalent of a really nice, 4 year old used BMW in taxes.
1/29/2010 7:25:06 PM
^^ i had to file NY state taxes the other yearBECAUSE I WAS ON BUSINESS TRIPS TO THE STATE AND WORKED THERE FOR MORE THAN 5 DAYS IN A CALENDAR YEARwhat the shit is that(i had 8 days total)so had to adjust my DE state and city taxes to reflect itfuckers
1/29/2010 7:30:59 PM
Not having state income tax is almost enough to make me want to move to Tennessee. I mean, Nashville and Memphis would both probably be pretty ok. Washington also has no state income tax, that wouldn't be too bad.Another alternative would be to live in Nevada, but shop in New Mexico. No state income tax, no sales tax. Whammo!
1/29/2010 7:36:44 PM
Nevada/NM would be same scenario as Washington/Oregon
1/29/2010 7:37:45 PM
memphis. ew.
1/29/2010 7:37:53 PM
Huh? Good food, decent sized city (they actually have a pro basketball team. Sort of.), close to Tunica for gambling. Seems like it might be a decent place to live actually.
1/29/2010 7:42:04 PM
pretty hood.id do the northwest.by far
1/29/2010 7:42:51 PM
Hmmm, did not know that. I mean, I guess I should have guessed based on Rampage being from there and all.
1/29/2010 7:44:14 PM
yeah, NY fucks you pretty badsad thing is, even if you move, they'll make for damn sure that they tax you on your way out too
1/29/2010 7:44:50 PM
it does have good food and a downtown thoughbut def hood
1/29/2010 7:45:10 PM
Yeah, I like that in NYC you can pay up to 48% of your income in taxes. Pretty baller. Then throw sales tax on top of that... no fucking wonder cost of living is so damned high.
1/29/2010 7:46:09 PM
well, yeah...NYC itself has a tax premium that you have to pay JUST for living in the city
1/29/2010 7:46:53 PM
these are a few years old (2008)but HOLLA BROKE ASS STATElow/high bracket rates for state income tax
1/29/2010 7:54:55 PM
this is why i moved to FL. i save at least $10k/year from not having to pay state income tax.
1/29/2010 8:05:32 PM
yea but you have to live in FL
1/29/2010 8:05:59 PM
Washington State would be cool. I think I could deal with Spokane or a Seattle outlier/suburb.
1/29/2010 8:09:07 PM
I get raped every single goddamn paycheck. RAPED with NY state tax.I'm glad that I make a lot of money so that I still take home bank
1/29/2010 8:10:04 PM
FL isn't that bad actually. I guess it depends on where you live in FL. I live on the panhandle. It's not touristy like Orlando or Miami. Cost-of-living is way cheaper than Raleigh. Housing is cheaper too. Some of the nicest beaches I've seen in my life are here.
1/29/2010 8:13:26 PM
oh yea i have heard the panhandle is nice
1/29/2010 8:33:36 PM
^I'd pan your handle! [Edited on January 29, 2010 at 8:41 PM. Reason : ]

1/29/2010 9:19:07 PM
i don't ever plan on changing my residence from FLin the military, once you get stationed in FL, TX, WA, or anywhere else w/o state income tax, you change your residence to there and keep it that way no matter where else you get sent.
1/29/2010 9:27:01 PM
1/29/2010 9:28:35 PM
^^sorry, it was 13 days, looking back, not 8... but stillthere's some wonky law about services performed in the state, and my company auto-adhered to it.i was able to file for a return, and got it all back.if it's not already done, i wouldnt worry about it.where they're trying to get back money is from people who live out of the state, but work in the state as a primary place of employment
1/29/2010 9:30:42 PM
1/29/2010 9:31:16 PM
no other state that i know of has itwell, ive only spent extended periods of time for work in ohio, wv, va, nc, tx, ny, al, and la[Edited on January 29, 2010 at 9:33 PM. Reason : i could be wrong about all of this, take it as a grain of salt. it's been a few years]
1/29/2010 9:33:01 PM
come to tennessee
1/29/2010 9:35:58 PM
^^so how does NY know the difference?
1/29/2010 9:44:41 PM
It gets reported through work... at least it does for me (govt. contracts)]
1/29/2010 9:56:00 PM
Yeah NY is fucked up like that. I think NC (and most other states) give you 10 days.
1/29/2010 9:56:02 PM
1/29/2010 11:35:43 PM
Yes, but did you do any salary earning work there?
