why or why not...and do they cuss in front of you?__________________________________aside from an inadvertent "SHIT!!!!!" when, during Babe Ruth ball, my dad was coaching 3rd and I ran through his stop sign and got nailed at the plate during a pivotal point in the game. i'll never forget that, because it was the only time i've ever cussed in front of either parentwhy? we weren't raised around a lot of cussing. yeah we went to church, but we weren't Bible bangers. yeah we watched R-rated movies with plenty of violence and foul language, but we still never felt comfortable cussing in front of our parents. as time as gone on, I've heard by dad say shit and bitch a few times....my mom says shit quite often. never heard either drop the F-bombon a related note, I cuss like a sailor in front of my friends and my sisters

2/4/2010 11:03:06 AM

2/4/2010 11:03:22 AM
I don't because I respect them. Yes, sometimes my father says drops a couple of cuss words.
2/4/2010 11:03:46 AM

2/4/2010 11:05:23 AM
i cuss in front of them because i respect them.
2/4/2010 11:05:51 AM
I never did growing up. I try not tonow, but shit happens. They cuss in front of me. It's part of being an adult. No big thing. Worse shit can happen.
2/4/2010 11:06:01 AM
my parents are ok with the occasional "hell" or "ass"but i don't break out shit, fuck, bitch etc on them. That would be too much
2/4/2010 11:06:22 AM

I bring out a repertoire of cuss words with my parents. Occasionally I may "apologize" b4 dropping an f bomb, but if I'm really pissed about something that I'm talking to them about I just let it roll.I even cuss in front of my in-laws as my MIL has been known to sew a tapestry herself. However, I would not say fuck in front of my MIL...that's where she draws the line. It's funny when she does say it though [Edited on February 4, 2010 at 11:09 AM. Reason : ]
2/4/2010 11:08:54 AM
Yes
2/4/2010 11:09:00 AM
i generally refrain from "fuck" around them, but everything else in the normal canon of cusswords is open season.
2/4/2010 11:09:26 AM
yes.I was raised by my mother who is 5'4 so she had to cuss like a sailor to get my attention.
2/4/2010 11:10:06 AM
i mean yeah, this is america
2/4/2010 11:10:25 AM
yes
2/4/2010 11:10:38 AM
I won't say fuck around them, but I'll say other things sparingly.
2/4/2010 11:11:14 AM
I don't do it that much normally, unless I'm watching sports.
2/4/2010 11:13:15 AM
Yes, but I try to avoid it if possible.
2/4/2010 11:13:17 AM
After I started working, I've generally dropped it completely. However, only to aggravate my mother, I will cuss for no reason in her presence. She's turned bible thumper, and it aggravates the hell out of her.She also doesn't like when I talk negatively about Christianity, and quote Buddha to her. I think she prays hard for her agnostic son and husband. [Edited on February 4, 2010 at 11:16 AM. Reason : ]
2/4/2010 11:13:37 AM
not usually, generally because I don't usually feel the need to cuss when I'm around my mom.
2/4/2010 11:15:04 AM

2/4/2010 11:28:13 AM
some of us have class and don't have to swear every other word.
2/4/2010 11:34:10 AM
some of us don't have class
2/4/2010 11:34:48 AM
yes...but a lot less than I cuss around everybody else
2/4/2010 11:34:53 AM
yes, but a lot less than around everyone elsewith that said, my mom owned an auto parts store for a long time and now talks to plane mechanics all day and my dad drove race cars for a living, so cursing doesn't exactly phase them
2/4/2010 11:40:13 AM
Who says "cuss" after Jr. High? Its "swear" or "curse"Cussing is what 8th graders do
2/4/2010 11:41:06 AM
constantly.
2/4/2010 11:42:12 AM
I think I started cursing around my mom my junior year of college. Which was a pretty big deal, since she chastised me for saying "sucks" when I was younger. It's since progressed, to where I curse quite frequently...but it's usually in context and understood. I remember getting a little too comfortable with cursing in front of her and let fly a couple "f-bombs" and she was like..."THAT'S IT!!!" and proceeded to go on a tirade. Twas funny.I generally don't say "fuck", but everything else is game. I think we had a pretty good bonding moment when we were talking about my sister and I said, "Caroline is being a fucking bitch"...and instead of telling me not to say that...she agreed.
2/4/2010 11:54:42 AM
I'm rarely in front of my parents
2/4/2010 12:06:54 PM
I use the same vocab around my parents as I do around my friends.
2/4/2010 12:09:44 PM
2/4/2010 12:11:16 PM
Like a fuckin' sailor. My dad is almost as bad. He's gotten worse with age, lol.
2/4/2010 12:12:03 PM
fuck and bitch not so much, shit and hell quite often, ass occasionally around my momdad doesnt really care, although i try not to cuss that often around anyone, trying to clean up my language
2/4/2010 12:13:58 PM

2/4/2010 12:22:56 PM
my dad curses a good bit, my mom is starting to more and more, but I don't think I've ever said a curse around them. I can be bad around my friends, though.
2/4/2010 12:25:36 PM
2/4/2010 12:36:47 PM
You cussing son of a cuss.
2/4/2010 12:37:11 PM
Yes. it's a part of the English language. Yes.
2/4/2010 12:53:23 PM
I swear a lot more when I write than when I speak.I've let slip some ones accidentally in front of the parents, only because college life makes the use of "fuck" as an adjective so commonplace that it's sometimes hard to drop. My mom used to swear a lot, but has calmed down now that me and my brother aren't little brats. My dad basically never swears, but he's in a profession where his public speaking is his paycheck, and a Minister, so he's got control over that shit.

2/4/2010 12:59:06 PM
I can, and I occasionally do, but I try to keep it as PG as possible. I never drop the F-bomb, but the occasional bullshit, damn, shit, or hell might come out (this is more around my mom- my dad I never curse around)
2/4/2010 1:01:25 PM
I cuss around my dad all the time, we talk like we're friendsI cuss around my mom from time to time, it depends on the story/mood, usually it just slips out in conversation. I dont ever drop the f-bomb around my mom.I cuss around my mother and father in law also, I try to keep it PG, but if it happens during conversation its not a big deal
2/4/2010 1:06:14 PM
no. im not some common piker thoughand "swear" or "curse" are pre 5th grade words[Edited on February 4, 2010 at 1:27 PM. Reason : words]
2/4/2010 1:24:52 PM
never have. i haven't said as much as hell or damn in front of them.i've heard them cuss all my life, but there is something off about it for me.
2/4/2010 1:26:36 PM

2/4/2010 1:27:57 PM
I do curse in front of my parents and not in front of Ken's parents.
