This post will read like a blog, so if you're a fag like BubbleBobble then you should save yourself the time and post how this isn't my blog or the ever popular "cool story bro."Otherwise, if you're still reading, here's what happened to me. I was sitting in the food court, eating dinner with my family, when I felt a tug at my leg. This was my right leg, not my dick, for your perverted fucks. I looked over to see a young boy, probably 4-5 years old, of middle-eastern race, smiling and looking at me. I don't think something like this would happen in Iran, but this being America, he's probably used to seeing white, powerful men such as myself enjoying a plate of hot food in a mall food court.I know that some people would find this annoying, and probably demand that the harlot he has for a mother be publicly stoned in front of the Hot Topic for not having this animal on a leash, but I felt it was just a kid having fun so I smiled back at him. I wish that we lived in a society where kids could be friendly like this, but we have too many perverts and predators to allow our children to socialize with strangers. I think this kid's enthusiasm for life just got the best of him so here he was, tugging on my pants.I turned to my parents and told them that I had a visitor. They looked at the kid, smiled, and then went back to arguing about my dad's unemployment, which has lead to purchases at the flea market, by my mother, becoming less and less frequent. My dad still buys his Topps baseball cards everytime they go because they are an important necessity and he is a man so he decides how to spend the money. I don't know why I brought it up again, but I told them that I thought that the kid wanted to eat some of our food. My mom got scared and said, "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air." I was devastated, but what could I do? Here I was, fraternizing with the people who bombed Pearl Harbor, and disrespecting my family in the middle of a fine eating establishment. I proceeded to continue eating my Chicken Fries value meal and I let the kid continue doing whatever it was he was doing next to me.All of a sudden, the kid's mother came running up and jerked the child away in a manner that I think child services would like to hear about. She said to him in a voice loud enough for me to hear, "Do not talk to people who look like that." I normally get upset when someone is so blatantly racist, but realizing that I had done nothing wrong, and that Steak Escape had not fucked up my food, I decided to let it go. My phone rang and my buddy wanted to know where were going this weekend. I told him "yo holmes, to Bel-Air" and then told him that I had to go because I had to finish my steak sandwich. In some ways I wish that I had spoken to this woman who had so rudely and illegally disrespected me, because I feel that a stern talking to would have done her body good. I can't describe what she looks to all of you so that you can publicly chastise her because she was wearing one of this Hindu outfits that covers everything but the eyes. I guess if you see a woman like that at Cary Towne Center then it could be her.Anyways, I know that many of you shop at Cary Towne Center, so I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced anything like that there or anywhere else in the Triad? If so, please post your experiences here. I think that things like this happen often in our surrounding community, and if we know how it affects each other then hopefully we can reduce the number of occurrences of such treatment. I'll go back to Cary Towne Center, but I doubt I'll ever eat at Steak Escape again.

So, basically, you're moving to California because your mom is scared of Middle Eastern children eating your food?I don't get it.

Btw, the outfit that covers everything but the eyes is called "hijab" or "burqa" and is a Muslim outfit, not a Hindu one.

I realize this thread is about those who have experienced racism at Cary Towne Center.... which I have not. Hear me out, maybe I can offer some insight.I am in outside sales, which is currently salary+commission, but will move into straight commission starting at the beginning of July 2010. I have been in this position since July 2009. I have competition from several direct manufacturing sales reps, large distributors, and local distributors. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each:Direct Advantages: Immediate knowledge of new technology, no middle man mark up, one shipping bill (paid by manufacturer or buyer of goods), access to larger range of non-commodity items, control inventory, have access to many distributors that can effectively sell their goods which increases market share, and set prices of commodity they manufacture.Direct disadvantages: Typically have 1-3 sales reps per region (i.e. southeast, mid-atlantic, northeast, etc.) limiting the number of accounts they can successfully manage/cold-call, lack physical customer service or physical technical service available to or affordable for smaller users or altogether, are sometimes not trustworthy because they will go in behind their distributors that sell their commodity to one account in large quantities (i.e. they missed a big account, and have found out about it through a distributor selling their particular product) which leads to the distributor not selling their product anymore, have too many distributors selling the product ultimately driving the set price down through deviations, possibly rely on distributors to actually sell the product, and competition from other direct sources.Large distributor advantages: have access to other commodities that go hand in hand with other manufacturers (poor example- grocery stores sell milk as well as cereal), get direct pricing, many locations regionally or nationally easing the shipping burden of buyers with multiple locations, personal service either customer or technical, many sales reps that are able to cover a broader territory, access to multiple manufacturers of the same commodity allowing to keep prices in check, service programs that smaller companies can't offer and direct providers can't match in price or value, and experts of many many commodities as opposed to one or a few.Large distributor disadvantages: smaller local distributors creating price wars (think Michael Scott Paper Co vs Dunder-Mifflin), direct mfg's going in behind and stealing business, limited access to all of the mfg's (you won't find Harris Teeter name brands in Food Lion and visa versa), can't truly set prices because it's based on both supply and demand, territory management, and tough growth prospects in slower economies (this is true for direct as well really)Local distributor advantages: Typically a good ol' boy setting where the seller and the buyer know each other for years (this does happen at all levels, but mostly at the local level), local folks are right down the street and can be used in emergencies, if the local guy buys at high enough volumes then there is no shipping charge to the end user, and access to both direct mfg's and large distributors.Local distributor disadvantages: easily beaten in price, array of commodities, array of technology, lack of trained staff, low cash flow, etc etc etc. This is what I have noticed in my six months, I am sure there are plenty more that need mentioning. The way I am setting myself apart as a sales person is this: I go after the big accounts right now while I am new. The big accounts, if I land them, will take care of me while I am new and building a customer base. The money made off of those allows me to focus free time on smaller accounts that get me higher margins. I build up big accounts, I would like to have 5-10 of these, then get 20-30 medium accounts. If I lose 1 or 2 big accounts, the 20-30 medium accounts keep me afloat while I go after new big accounts. I don't really waste time on small accounts simply because they basically pay for breakfast or something really small.I will say this, if you can't get a big account in the first 6-8 months (assuming you have cash flow that you can ride this long) you could be in a world of trouble. If you can get one, it will really make going after the others a lot more enjoyable and less stressful. It's simply just very exhausting wasting any time on anything other than big accounts in the very beginning. You work just as hard on the medium sized accounts and see 1/3 to 1/36 of the money in my situation. If you have any other questions, you can PM me. I hope this helps in the slightest!

if I had anyone do that to me where I was in earshot and I was sure it was in reference to me, I would make a scene about it...if someone tries to get uppity when some "racist" white person "oppresses" them, I sure as hell am going to call them out for being ignorant and racist themselves- I did this at the gym when I worked there... someone tried to get in without a membership with their friend and I wouldn't let them go- they tried to say it was because they were black and tried to make a scene out of it- I made an even bigger scene telling them that their ignorant ass needs to stop expecting hand outs and that if they thought I was going to bend over because they had the nerve to pull out the race card that they were dead wrong and that they are making themselves look stupid, not me or the gym (I had no problem doing this where I worked because I really could have cared less about that job- it was just something to fill my time and get a little extra cash)
