I would really love to go all over the country and all over the world.

I've decided that I need to marry for money....to do that I need to either find a blind rich guy, or drop about 200 lbs

So, take a weekend trip to Vegas. You'll experience the entire world in just a few blocks. And nobody needs more than a weekend in Vegas.

get a passport

and, go to the airport and do standby for cheap to where ever for the weekend. you might also want to stalk plane rates and get a hilton card (works for hampton points, too), and a ff airlines card, maybe.

Take fridays or mondays off, and you have 3.3 days. Add that to a national holiday, and you could have 4 or more. Use weeks off for big trips, like to europe.

Listen. Find a place you want to go. When you figure it out, let me know. I get discount hotel rooms and I can hook you up.

Just plan a weekend getaway for the very near future. Or start planning now for a guys' trip in September or a 4th of July getaway.

The sooner you plan, the easier it is to get away.

Don't feel bad. I'm 38 and I haven't done shit either.

Well except been to New Orleans twice.

And the only time I've been west of the mississippi was for a bidness trip.

Other than that, no cool shit. I need to take a trip or two myself.

in the interest for full disclosure, i should add that most of the travel i have done has been business trips. (I traveled up and down the east coast with church groups before college). Now I never go on vacations or even take time off of work other than to attend to personal business. I ended up with 5 days left over in 2009.

i haven't done shit either, on a grand scale i mean. Going to Ireland in late August with a few friends though. It'll be hands down the biggest trip i've taken since before college and i'm really looking forward to it.

I haven't done shit either and I don't think I will do a whole lot of shit. I get to do cool stuff at work and I make sure I'm involved when cool shit is going down, but that's about it.

This year I get to visit Philly, Baltimore, and New Brunswick (NJ). I feel like I'm going to be dead by June from visiting these locales. Hopefully we can lodge in a baller spot.

I'm not excited to go there, TBH. A bunch of fucking murder capitals and shitholes.

We had options in Tennessee. I wanted to have that option and to explore a semi-rural area that has some culture, not a bunch of disgusting concrete shitholes that are way down at the bottom of my list of places I want to explore. The guy at work who sets these places up just picked some places that were not at all appealing. For philly we can at least stay in an inn near the airport and just eat at a couple of lame spots before going back.

It's for some training seminars for work. Trying to advance my knowledge so that, if I decide to go private industry again, I will be more valuable since I have been learning new things at work.

And I didn't even give you the really good discount, which is limited to Associates and family members. I have to be careful about using that one.

^ Which San Jose? Is SJC in California or Costa Rica? The first San Jose that comes to mind is in Costa Rica, and we don't have hotels there but I can recommend a really great hostel with amazing owners.

Save up. Wait til you lose your job or want to switch jobs. Take two months off and back-pack Europe. You might not do anything much after that...but you'll be glad you at least did that.

Only downfall is that it will give you the travel bug and you'll want to do more. Plus side is that after hitting a bunch of shit in two months, you'll be able to pick what places you like best and go back for one or two week stays...or figure out what you missed and go back for one or two week stays.
