^ my saturn is the first car i've owned (out of 3, which isn't many, i guess) where the gas gauge goes to "empty" when the car is turned off...my other cars just stayed wherever the needle was when it was turned off

Yeah....I turned my car on a few times since then...like it's not that it's just stuck sitting down at the bottom...there is a little peg that it is normally on top of but now it's under it...like it's stuck

is there some way for me to open the window up and moved the thing a ma bob on top of it again?

that little black dot in my picture is the peg and the thing is all like "oh no I can't get over it what will I ever do with myself"

my favorite part is that she drew two separate gauge faces instead of copying the first before drawing the needle

hold down the trip button while you turn the car to run. That usually does a guage cycle test and can fix it.

Assuming it has a digital odometer....

what she's failed to really get across is the fact that the gauge needle is stuck under the stop peg.... she's wondering how to fix that...

a new battery shouldn't have affected this at all...

so then I get into my car today and it looks like this before I turn it on...

I'm thinking of doing some exploring...I saw a screw that looked to be keeping that little glass thing in place and I may just take that out and see if that works...or I'll also do the smart thing and tell my dad about it and let him fix it.

just use the eraser tool to remove the peg and then use the paintbrush tool to redraw it under the needle

I know someone who had a similar problem on an impala. The speed-o-meter would sit at idle on 80 mph and go up to like 140 mph on the highway. lol I don't remember how they fixed it, but I think the dealer took care of it pretty quickly.

I realize this thread is about those who have a broken gas gauge.... which I do not. Hear me out, maybe I can offer some insight.

When a car has a problem, it actually has many problems. I have fixed many problems on my car and many others. I am willing to take a look at your gauges, and if I can't fix the problem then maybe I can do something else. We could do something in the backseat for sure.

did the car actually overheat or is your gauge cluster fucked up. it's common on some cars like my friend's sister's old 97 Grand AM
