and you could choose 5 songs ranging from 2000-present what would they be?

i feel like new music had been ignored on the radio and am curious to hear what others might have to say

this is the problem i dont think there is any outlet for new music. the triangle has a high music iq but the radio stations ignore it. i dont listen to the radio ever yet have made a career out of it.

no i just want to get an idea of what everyone is listening to. styles, genres, general stuff. what new music is being ignored by the "mainstream" that maybe more people should be exposed to. casual music fans maybe havent heard.

of course it depends on the genre, but for shits and giggles I'll go with:

Radiohead- Idioteque
The Strokes- Take It Or Leave It
Arcade Fire- Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)
MGMT- Time To Pretend
Animal Collective- My Girls

i personally think tune-yards is catchy as shit. "lions" or "fiya" being the catchiest.

the decemberists are fucking terrible

and 2000-present is such a weird range, so i'm ignoring it

if i ran a radio station and all we played was five song sets

1. girls - "lust for life"
2. andrew bird - "heretics"
3. the beach boys - "i was made to love her"
4. pavement - "date w/ ikea"
5. deerhunter - "saved by old times"

and then a commercial break, because i'd need money, and then

1. blur - "coffee & tv"
2. bob dylan - "highway 61 revisited"
3. camera obscura - "lloyd, i'm ready to be heartbroken"
4. delta spirit - "trashcan"
5. magnetic fields - "why i cry"
