its kept me satisfied for 2-3 years (TWSS) it does it all, ive literally held off on purchasing a laptop because i have an ipod touch

someone like me that strictly browses the web with no need to print, its big man

Yeah it's pretty awesome...I mean it sucks when you don't have wifi and you wanna look something up, but other than that, when you have wifi you can surf on the internet...when you don't, you can play any of the games you've downloaded and have music.

I have a ton of different playlists that I switch to on a consistent basis when I'm working out or riding in my car to work. My music "mood" changes all the time. I also work at a bar that I switch up playlists with fairly often.

I don't want to have to plug-in my ipod to my laptop every time I want to listen to different music when I leave my house.

Yea I am the same way. 80GB Classic that is about 95% nearly full. With their highest capacity atm being 64GB it is not worth the $400 price tag atm (yes I know I could sell my current ipod to cut into some of that cost) for something that is a step backwards in storage and that doesnt have any expandability for me even with the extra features at the moment. It is a cool device, but I would want the next jump in storage size and a lower price before it became useful to me. Basically, with a phone that has internet and an ipod, it would have to replace one of those devices.

And when it comes down to the "do you listen to all that music at once?" question that always pops up...

I had a 30GB video for 3-4 years before I got this 80GB. It was a good product, but for someone who rocks the ipod all day at work, at the gym, and anytime I am driving (ipod integrated stereo with album art and playlists etc. on the screen), I definitely ran into the "ugh I wish I had X on my ipod" more often than you think with over 2x the amt of music compared to the storage capacity. You never know what you are going to be in the mood for listening to. And if the whole point of my mp3 device is to have my library at my fingertips...well whats the point if I still run into a problem I had before fairly often?

So, the inconvenience of having this mp3 device and still pining for stuff that I owned but wasn't on the device was annoying and also the added inconvenience of having to remove and add stuff more frequently than I normally do to add more music was annoying too. Hence, I upgraded to the 80GB.


WORDS, summary: The ipod touch is cool but until they get the storage over 100GB it isnt really worth it to me. If I ever get it, it would be to replace my iPod, so it needs to hold my entire library of music, with several years of expandability built in, as well as having additional space for the other features that make the touch nice (videos, games/apps, camera, etc.). Until said device is around $200, I won't be buying. My guess is that, by the time that happens, I'll be paying for a smart phone instead of my touch screen with a data plan, non smart phone, and I'll just end up sticking with an ipod.

i guess i dont put music on my ipod, i download it but it immediately gets added to my library and put on my other ipod which has 32GB, but thats enough for me

my ipod touch is 100% apps and movies, by design. the way i used my old one that broke (i smashed that shit when it died on me) was havin it during workouts and shit, just too much use i feel it is better suited to play games with and surf on the net.

^ one of the reasons I do want a bigger one soon is that I want to upgrade the quality of some of my mp3s. Right now, when I'm pushing the limit of my 80GB, I don't have the room to do that .
