If we lose AAA then countries will start to sell off our treasury bonds; more supply, less demand; a sort of market acknowlegement that we will not recover from the recession; we begin to look more like Greece; interest rates will have no choice but to rise in hopes of overcoming inflation; and obama will raise the tax rate from around 38% to 50%, easily.

Why: because we will still owe AAA-money on AA-bonds that will be worth dick.

That might be a problem, except we're not going to lose that rating in a million years...totally worthless subprime mortgage backed securities never lost that rating even at the height of the great recession. Good talk though. You can easily make an argument about the perilous position our debt puts us in, but it has nothing to do with the ratings agencies, since they've already been proven to be completely devoid of any value.

there is a definite difference between private debt and public debt especially since it effects the sovereignty of a nation. but again... this isn't about the housing crisis, even though it was brought on by the affordable housing legislation and amendments that made it possible to securitize mortgages - which was pushed through by a previous liberal president. investors were not aware that they invested in bogus AAA mortgage securities; investors KNOW that treasury bonds are nearly worthless.

no country will invest in us in the near future. this sucks because of the genius healthcare legislation will cost money and the money will come from you. the only possible way we will pay for this debacle is by buying our own debt. this is where i introduce you to the federal reserve. they in fact, at this moment, right now, while china is selling off our bonds little by little-trying to limit their risk, the federal reserve is buying. thats right, the federal reserve is the LARGEST OWNER OF OUR PUBLIC DEBT.

obama is trying to prove economics doesn't follow the 2nd law of thermodynamics. I don't know if it does or doesn't... but i wouldn't try to disprove the 2nd law. Boles would probably agree.

unfortunately, we will buy our own debt until we move to the alternative - raising taxes to pay for shit no one really wants. and when that tax hike begins to be anticipated by the investors like mutual fund managers/hedge fund manager/pension fund manager and individual investors, they will most definitely start to sell off equity and bonds in hopes to beat the inevitably high tax penalties. this will kill the hopes of a recovery-by-spending. fucking idiots.

you sir need to read. or find someone who isn't missing a chromosome to tell you what the fuck is going on. please don't vote liberals. you've done enough.
