I have two pugs--brother and sister.

They must be in their late forties by now.

One is an invincible poop-eating champ, and the other (a more classic pug) is sick all the time according to the expensive vet she sees almost weekly. Either that or my parents have Munchausen's by proxy.

I would say your situation is awesome like merbig's, jataylor, but your dog has not been spayed, and I don't approve.

This is me judging you!

My pup is still a blithering idiot. Problem is he is a 55lb ball of muscle. He listens to me and the gf when there aren't any real distractions around, but other than that he is Peyton the wonder idiot- and the "little" bastard is still growing (probably gonna end up b/w 65-75 lbs...) So much for a medium sized dog :/ still love him though

Lefty is ?? The vet has 18 years of records but he was found at an airport. Best guess is 19 or 20.

Agreed. I don't know why, but this is one of those things that annoy the fuck out of me.

My dog is 5. She is not 39, 42, or 45. She is FIVE years old.

^^ummm ok.
i say that too. my dogs are 5 and 2.

but biologically my dogs are 24, 39, and 42.

i mean sure its annoying if you tell people what they are in dobgie years constantly, but its kinda cool/nice to know where your dog sits relative to your self.....

Yeah, agreed that its nice to see relative to yourself.

but this:
Quote :
"i mean sure its annoying if you tell people what they are in dobgie years constantly,
"

is what I'm talking about. When people say things like "he's only 14..." 14 is an old dog, 2 is pretty young. And of course this varies per breed.

One thing I have noticed is that each online reference for so-called "dog years" is different. I do like that this one accounts for different sizes and isn't based on the number 7. I saw a good comparison calculator once, but I don't remember what site it was at.

Anyways here's what I planned to reply based solely on the thread title:
One is 5. The other I'm not sure about. He acts like a puppy, but is at least 2 years old. He acted like a puppy when I got him, even though he was full grown. I wish I knew how old he was, even in ...lol "dog years". But that's what you get when you adopt a dog.

I mean, if anyone asks how old my dog is, I will tell them ~7 months...

I'm just going with the spirit of the thread here folks

if it were a diagram saying what vegetable is your dog, I would reply carrot in here- I'm not gonna go around and tell everyone my dog is a carrot though

^^ He's 19 or 20. The vet has records going back to 1992, but he's older than that.
