was there no breeze in Raleigh today? usually on a day like this, opening a few windows does the trick

I like to freeze my balls off in the spring and summer, regardless of cost

my roommates, as a rule, do not

so begins the unspoken 5-month war of thermostat-adjustment and readjustment

a cold war, if you will

it was even better when I was living with a black dude at Wolf Village...sometimes the AC got turned on/off three times in one night

i'm a fan of opening windows and sometimes using ceiling fans, especially on a day where it only hits mid-70s.....80s and 90s I understand

but, every little bit counts when you're trying to conserve money.

too expensive. Have to manage drafts for temperature regulation right now.

I've used the a/c a few times when having a lot of people over while it was warm, but otherwise, not so much. Most of the temperature control can be taken care of with a screen door.

we decided to rent a house with neither a screen door on the front door nor on the sliding patio door.

makes getting a full-house draft a little difficult. BUT, we DO have 8 windows around our living room/dining room.

I'm usually the same way, but today, according to the thermometer here at least, it got up to the upper 70's, and the windows just lit up this place with sun light, heating it up good and nice

combine that with manual effort being done in here, and it was time to switch on the A/C (it really only kicked on a couple times through out the entire day, but that little bit helped)

^adding one isn't too hard, and it would help resale... ask the landlord that if you install one (or have one "installed professionally") if he will take a little cut on the rent- doing that at my place before last either got it or got the land lord to come out and do it himself

truth- but it is still getting down to the 40's/50's here at night, so an open window should suffice at night

i'm the minority in my household, so I guess i'll just have to grin and bear it.

and i guess i'll have stop going to the bars 3 nights a week and ordering pizza so often in order to conserve money

march is fucked up because if you want some 71-72 degree shit you have to either have a nice HVAC system and fancy thermostat...or constantly switch between AC and heat

but in the summer, my place is like 68

well in most cases if yall are gone during the day, you could just turn it off then (when it will be the hottest)

unfortunately you guys always seem to have at least one person there

^yeah, I don't know if I get it that cold, but it is constantly on during the summer

I have lived in the "hot room" the last 5 years, so a warm room doesn't kill me

That's one of the best things about living on the island...we constantly have that nice breeze blowing so having the windows open until late spring and no AC is doable.

As it gets warmer, I spend less and less time at home. Let someone else pay for the air conditioning.

i laffed

and between the back porch door being open and a bedroom window, i get fantastic circulation. which is good, because the property managers took the AC unit and haven't replaced it yet.

Ah, I open my windows even though it is face-rape season.

Pollen sucks but I just take more drugs and try to get used to the fact that I won't be able to breathe for a few months.

I also try to keep my thermostat off when it's this nice outside. It's a bit cooler here in Virginia than it is in Raleigh, though.

occasionally i'll open a window or the back sliding door and put the screen door in place

and yes, i even open the windows during pollen season
